I'm asking for a friend. He didn't have to serve this week but he's afraid he'll be called to soon. Not kidding, guys.

When I got notice to do jury duty, I just didn't show up and nothing happened. Not a letter or fine or anything.

Tell the jackwit to do his civic duty.

I served on a jury a few years ago, read Nankering With the Stones while waiting in the jury pool.
People thought I was crazy, sitting there by myself and laughing my ass off.

The jury I finally got on convicted a drug peddler for selling to some cops on Bourbon Street.
Found out later that was the thug's third time. He's probably breaking rocks at Angola now.

I remember Sera Gamble of the series Supernatural saying that she tried to get out of jury duty by showing up wearing a Star Fleet uniform. Didn't work. I rather doubt letting him borrow one of my floggers would either. They'd probably just tell him to leave it at home next time.

Edith Grove, I've never read Nankering With the Stones but I gotta wonder: did Phelge make out that the guys' drugs were delivered by the Dope Fairy or what?

Come to think of it, I bet that there's been a number of dealers that used "the Dope Fairy" as a handle.

Well, I hope it's a short trial. All the time he spends in jury duty is time he isn't having sex with me!

Just pull out a pocket Constitution and start reading it. Then mention "jury nullification" within earshot of the right person(s).
