Title: Emotional Rescue Redux
Post by Paranoid Android on Feb 13th, 2016 at 8:47am

It was only a matter of time before this jewel was to be rediscovered by todays youth and sea of Pop artists...

St Vincent does a great job here...I dont know much about her except she does have a legion of producers who want to work with her.

I wish this was done by Scissor Sisters as I always thought their version of Comfortably Numb  ( along with the rest of the catalog) is stellar::

Those beats were made to be messed with.  Why'd it take 35 years?

I imagine many said the same about various covers the Stones did in the early days....like Blues purists, there are ER purists...I respect that. The fact that something can be updated and made relevant only shows how great a song truly is.

I wasn't aware of this.  I'm not aware of anything new in music anymore.  It's kind of cool, nice find, Magoo.  What race are the people doing the cover?  I appreciate their willingness to move the Stones forward to the next generation of recreational drug users.  It's a win-win type sitch for us old Stones guard types.

What race?? Human , I believe...but then again, she is of Oklahomian and Texan decent...so maybe not...(Kidding Maxmiester...just kidding...)...

St Vincent is quite a talent with a resume a mile long of some very impressive folks...he former label partner, Buggers Banquet is only coincidental as it has nothing to do with the Stones album

This cover isn't for me, but I'm glad others enjoy it.

Messed with? They were meant to be hung, drawn, and quartered at Traitor's Gate mate. 2nd worst Stones LP ever, only Dirty Work is worse.

It's like MegaMaid.  It went from suck to blow.

And another thing:  Nobody should be covering Stones tunes.

That's like me trying to re-create the Mona Lisa with crayons and tracing paper.

ACCEPTANCE & HOPE-
During this, the last of the seven stages in this grief model, you learn to accept and deal with the reality of your situation. Acceptance does not necessarily mean instant happiness. Given the pain and turmoil you have experienced, you can never return to the carefree, untroubled YOU that existed before this tragedy. But you will find a way forward.

You will start to look forward and actually plan things for the future. Eventually, you will be able to think about Emotional Rescue without pain; sadness, yes, but the wrenching pain will be gone. You will once again anticipate some good times to come, and yes, even find joy again in the experience of living.

You have made it through the 7 stages of grief.

One of you fuckers had a great line years ago, and I will try my best to remember it...

"Emotional Rescue does more for me before noon than most albums do all day."

ER is one of the all-time great championship albums.

Either, it's all the same to me. Anyway, we actually abolished the death penalty in Britain and Australia. So: It's a joke man. I just like taking the gypsy's outta Emotional Rescue, and Dirty Work.

Not bad really when they're the only two albums(actually released, or authorised by the Stones), I don't like.
