Not a Motorhead fan by any means, but I can surely appreciate the influence Lemmy had on the genre.

RIP!!

The last song on Motorhead's last album is a killer cover of SFTD.

A great epilogue.

Their cover of SFTD is too fast...it races while the Stones's original simmers.

RIP brave Lemmy. He was touring with Motorhead on their 40th Anniversary tour even though he was ill. Their last concert was in Berlin on Dec 11th. They were supposed to be touring until Feb 2016. Watch 'Overkill' live on Youtube in Berlin & 'Ace Of Spades'. Brave & performing till the end. Rest now Sir Lemmy.

I had no idea that they did SFTD!!!
It sounds AMAZING!!!

A true cover...pretty close to the original...but keeping their own.
the solo is scorching!!! Similar to Keef's solo in Buffalo this past year

This is now in my permanent playlist...thanks for turning me on to it!!!

He knew how to drink.  He could teach the current generation a thing or two.  They drink like girls.

Lemmy.  Lemreway.

What happens when you combine a love of chemistry and heavy metal?

This!

http://musicfeeds.com.au/news/petition-wants-new-heavy-metal-element-named-lemmium-honour-motorheads-lemmy-kilmister/#/slide/1

A petition is calling for a newly discovered heavy metal element to be named after late Motörhead frontman Lemmy Kilmister, and has suggested the brilliant name “Lemmium”.

The petition, launched today by Change.org user John Wright from York, UK, is calling on The International Union of Pure and Applied Chemistry (IUPAC, aka the peeps who deal with these sorts of things) to give Lemmy’s name to one of the four new elements, which currently have the pretty boring temporary titles ‘ununtrium (113)’, ‘ununpentium (115)’, ‘ununseptium (117)’ and ‘ununoctium (118)’.

“Heavy rock lost its most iconic figure over Christmas with the sudden and unexpected death of Ian ‘Lemmy’ Kilminster,” says Mr Wright, before stating his very scientific case for Lemmium becoming a thing.
