Title: Keith Richards: Under The Influence (Netflix) Post by sirmoonie on Oct 11th, 2015 at 1:06pm
Is there a thread on this? Sorry if I missed it.
Anyone seen it? It's wonderful. Cool little documentary focused on Crosseyed Heart, but plenty more. Saw a lot of old Stones clips I've never seen before. A LOT of interesting commentary by Keith - the bit at the Grand Ole Opry is highly memorable. As we've noticed, Richards seems revitalized, and he certainly continues that in Under The Influence. Nice to see him playing acoustic - little piece of acoustic on his new song Trouble makes this worth it alone. The chain-smoking (he's never without a cigarette) remains alarming and annoying - I really can't see how the guy can even walk anymore, much less be alive. But he's Keith Richards! He can hack butts like a cockroach! |

It's threadworthy, VooD. Have you seen it yet? It was really well done. Richards at his most sincere in awhile.
Great piece where his guitar tech Pierre BeauDuBoof finds an old 1960s tape recorder, and then Richards shows and replicates how he got that incredible guitar sound in Street Fighting Man. It was brilliant, and nice insight to how much thought and work the Stones and Richards used to put into their songs. |
