Title: Where Are These B2B Remixes?
Post by andrews27 on Jul 2nd, 2015 at 9:55pm
From the B2B Wiki page:

'The Stones had a number of the album's songs remixed in extended versions but have as yet not released any of them e.g. "Out of Control / Papa Was a Rolling Stone": 10 minutes, 10 seconds, "Might as Well Get Juiced" aka "Keith's Revenge Mix": 10:54, "Always Suffering" aka "Sentimental Mix": 9:27, "Already Over Me" aka "Ancient Remix": 9:27'

I need  "Out of Control / Papa Was a Rolling Stone"  Need

B2B is a swell album that only improves with a nice white wine.  You can't say that about A Bigger Bang.

They are excellent remixes. I listen to them all the time in the car
They were on the Pirates of The Vaults(??) 5 cd set that MARKO uploaded a few years back...

I think I have them on a thumb drive somewhere.

B2B better than A Bigger Bang?????

Yes.  One of the great things about B2B is how it doesn't want to end - an extra Keith song, plus percussion grace notes tinkling out into infinity.

In contrast, A Bigger Bang just won't end.  The first Stones album that people at my house asked me to take off.

Do the sales figures support the difference?

You can find him on Facebook. Look up a group called Bootlegs For Bastards.

I don't recall downloading this back then… my loss, it was comprehensive.
There's a few sites it could be uploaded too possibly, that don't restrict commercial released stuff…
I got an old friend I could hit up and maybe get a snail mail...

Speaking of Temptations/Stones mash ups, this one turned out well.

Never heard that before. Very good!

Even a few fills from 'Slave' and 'Gimme Shelter' thrown in for good measure!

I love mash-ups when they are done well.
I love remixes of Stones Songs...

Wish there were some master list of them all.
A torrent with all of them would be grand...

I have not been able to locate active links for Marko's drops from a few years ago, not the original Pirates Of the Vaults from 2004/5.

I feel a new thread coming soon...for old, new and newer remixes/mashups...
Sticky worthy?

I'd love to hear Might As Well Get Juiced.  I'm one of the few people who liked that one. It reminded me of Fat Possum stuff like A Ass Pocket Full Of Whiskey.  I saw them play it at MSG too.

From your MSG show

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JL8mC5rbErg

really doesn't lend itself to LIVE...although if they rehearsed it a bit more and turned into a spaghetti Western thing...it would sound great live...this version they all seem to get lost in it.

Yeah, I didn't say it was GREAT when they did it...but it was the ONLY time they EVER played it live.  And it was wonderfully weird. Both Keith and Woody played slide and Mick played a friggin' MOOG.

LOL! My friends are all fucking troglodites. I'm not asked I am told under pain of a severe beating, or worse, circa 1977, to 'TAKE THAT FUCKING SHIT OFF!' 'You Pommy bastard'. Reply- 'Get stuffed Aussie slag!" I think ABBANG was their best effort,(especially when undermanned through Chaz's illness) since Tattoo You. I quickly lost interest in Voodoo, BTBAB, Stripped but, I never lose interest in ABBANG. Love it! Great songs, brilliant lyrics, no (elephants in bathrooms, oh God! That pathetic, sharks will cry shit.)

Look At What The Cat Dragged In, Rough Justice, Sweet Neo Con, Oh No Not You Again. T'riffic!

As a Stones album, ABB is a long, dismal failure, a victim of the same creative deficit that produced Goddess in a Doorway.

ABB is the reason that there has been no album since.  It was a blow to their confidence in pulling one out.  Doom and Gloom and One More Shot are only two nails in the coffin of that.

They're stuck in the CD-era thinking that they're bound to release a 15 song package.  Sticky Fingers Live should be showing them that in the download economy, it only takes ten good ones to make an album, and eight plus two filler will pass.

Meh...that's a pretty harsh review of ABB there.  I like the record.  But then again I like Steel Wheels too...another one everybody bags on.

Agree Stones never coped well with the CD format. They're stuck in the 9,10, or 11 song vinyl format. Voodoo was the first real stab at conforming to the CD format, and it showed. Brand New Car, etc. But having said that I believe that ABB caught them on a high. As for D&G, One More Shot, well, I was pleasantly surprised with both those numbers. I think they really rock especially D&G.

There is barely a bad song on ABBang, whereas, Voodoo, BtoBAB find them struggling beyond 10 good songs. I'm not saying the predecessors of ABang were bad albums, but they highlight their struggle to conform to the extended CD format, too much filler.

Two absolutely marvellous records. A great mash-up.

I've just been through Pirates of the Vaults 1-5, and it's a set that could use some fixes.  Some tracks (Moon is Up, Fingerprint File, maybe more) have unwanted beginnings of songs not in the collection left at the ends.  The dub of the Already Over Me remix is mastered too high, and Marko dropped the volume drastically at 4:24.  (It sounds like he inched it back up after - if you can do that on the fly in digital.)

It would be great to have the five unreleased B2B remixes on this set in better quality, and lossless:

Might As Well Get Juiced (Keith's Revenge Mix)
Low Down (Edit)
Out of Control (Papa Was a Rolling Stone Mix)
Already Over Me
Thru and Thru

They're sorely missing from my playlist, collection...
