A bit of revisionist history from Mick, methinks. "Moonlight mile"'probably didn't refer to the Columbian Marching Powder, but "a head full of snow" almost certainly did. |

It's an interesting article, I wish we had something like this for every song.
Who knows, in this year of our Lord 2015, if (Sir) Jagger isn't trying to back away from what most people considered an obvious cocaine reference. If "head full of snow" didn't refer to cocaine back in 1970, it seems like Jagger didn't mind the widespread perception that it meant cocaine for the last 4.5 goddam decades. |

I apologize, S-Stone. My observation crossed with yours in temporal terms.
We should all get some cocaine to celebrate. I like it, in all its forms/methods - soft, hard, powder, rock, liquid, syringe, pipe, fish scale, mirror, jail, slathered, mainlined, chrysalis. |

Finally a proper interview, shame he's not playing on it on this tour: :wow
The cocaine reference seems fairly obvious, but when you have young kids and grand kids, people tend not to admit the realities of their youth. |

Now if only the early versions of this and some of the other Sticky Fingers numbers were on the upcoming cd. Would have made it more cohesive and attractive.
ps I was emailed link to this article late last night by my son who subscribes to WSJ, so I posted first thing this morning. Of course, I then go to IORR website and see it posted there by another person earlier this morning. I certainly wasn't trying to take credit for someone else's effort. |

Nice article. You know there was a ton of prep for this piece. Jagger can recall every note, every person , every part involved, but at times cant recall what songs were from what album...
Wish we had reports like this of the Dirty Work sessions or the GHS sessions. |

Hmmm . . . I don't know why but this reminds me of Al Pacino in Scarface.

come on give the man the benefit of the doubt he said in concert something he never said that I can remember in recent years and that was that Sticky Fingers had a lot of drug references... he doesn't do that in public much in last few decades has he?
I still think head full of snow is exactly what he meant foggy from the road. Now if you compare the times to Keef's book Life his hanger on/friend pharma coke man Freddy was in the picture then wasn't he? But I'll go with Jagger's telling of it. He hasn't been that oipen regarding the making of a song since what like 67 or so? I mean when have we read about the structure of a song to that extant. Great read. |
