Lotto Winner Wants to See Stones and Springsteen

The province's newest Lotto winner has at least one big plan for her winnings, seeing her favourite bands in concert. Delores Rumbolt of Port au Choix accepted her million dollar cheque from Atlantic Lottery yesterday in Deer Lake. She says she didn't realize she'd won until she remembered to give the clerk her ticket to check after winning 50 dollars on a scratch ticket. She says the only thing she can think to do is go to see her favourite bands in concert, The Rolling Stones and Bruce Springsteen.

She says she doesn't even know where they're playing, but when she finds out she's going to go since money is no longer an object.

Rumbolt is the province's second millionaire winner to receive her cheque in the last two days. Wednesday, Rick and Marion Traverse of Paradise received their million dollar cheque after scratching a winning ticket on Mother's Day.

However, I hope this winner realizes that you don't just buy a ticket and go to the show.

This ain't Broadway.

The irony of it all is that even with a million...she would only get a slightly better view of the stage...while the rest of us would get a better view of the event. The Stones themselves wouln't even play for a mere million...all that lotto money and all you get is the priviledge of paying way too much for an already over priced ticket.

I'll swap her those two tickets for her one.  It's a good deal.
