So they played YGMR anyway, even though it was in the website poll?

Nice to see 'Silver Train' finally getting dusted off.

'Angie'/'Silver Train' wasnt my first Stones single, but 'Angie' was the first Stones record I ever heard and the first song I saw them perform on TV

Thanks for posting the setlist, LJ.

I just had a feeling, Nanky.

Apologies to my neighbors who endured my screaming "I knew they'd play it. I knew they'd play it!!" at 5:45 am!!!

Okay, RO'ers we got ER and Silver Train.

Next song we need to get in that setlist is Dance Little Sister!!

The setlist seems one song light. Don't they usually do 20 songs?

they´ve been doing 19 or 20 songs since 2003. BTB tour was last interesting one for me.

The poll is merely a gimmick to get website traffic. If they want to play a song, they'll play it. If they cant be arsed - they wont.

Re: the number of songs. They played 20 songs at the first Tokyo show and 19 in Abu Dhabi.

I agree G.
Mick T adds so much. Three guitars on EVERY song would be KILLER.

Mine too.

Pretty groovy.

Ronnie and Mick on slide is always a treat.

Ronnie picked up the harmonica riff from the studio version which is a neat idea.

Not bad for not having played it since the 70s.
Hope it stays in the mix.

Mick and Keith are seemingly very unforgiving guys. Every one knows it's the thing the vast majority of fans want.

The sound is so good it's unreal. The Stones haven't had that sound probably since the 78 tour. I'm not saying all the other tours since were bad, but there is something unique there now. Apart from Mick Taylor, Mick Jagger's harmonica playing is fantastic. He gets such a rich sound and tone and I wish he played more harp and less Streets of Shite.

Empire Pool, Wembley (now Wembley Arena) 7th September 1973.

First performance was at the opening show of that tour in Vienna on 1st September.

It was played at three - maybe four as there's no recording and confirmed setlist of the evening show in Cologne on 4th September - of the first five shows of that tour (the afternoon show in Cologne that day being the other verified performance) and then dropped.

Reason for dropping it - "it sounds too much like 'All Down The Line" when played live" (Keith)

Neat to see Mick T with a Fender. I thought he usually played a Gibson. He can obviously play anything with strings, but kind of cool to see him with that guitar.

From RS.com:

The vote was very close, so the band also included runner-up ‘You Got Me Rocking’ in their 19 song set.

Joining Mick, Keith, Charlie and Ronnie for ‘Silver Train’, was former Stone Mick Taylor, who played on the song the last time it was performed live, just weeks after the release of the album it’s featured on, Goats Head Soup.

Silver Train is as pedestrian now as it was when first released. So many more old bluesy numbers to play. Johnny Winter's version of Train is a tad more tolerable...again IMHO...
