Title: Chuck Leavell and Bobby Keys to play their own shows in Australia Post by Voodoo Chile In Wonderland on Feb 2nd, 2014 at 11:28am Chuck Leavell To Play Melbourne’s Cherry Bar by Paul Cashmere on February 2, 2014 Chuck Leavell, the keyboard player for the Rolling Stones, will perform his own show at Melbourne’s Cherry Bar on March 29. Leavell has been a member of the Rolling Stones live band since 1982 and became the full-time keyboard player in 1985 for the band following the death Ian Stewart. Chuck Leavell has played on every Rolling Stones album since ‘Some Girls’ (1978). He is also the “unofficial” music director of the band and compiled the Stones setlist before each show with Mick Jagger. Chuck Leavell was a former member of the Allman Brothers. He was the keyboard player at the band’s peak playing on their classic 1972 album ‘Brothers and Sisters’ featuring ‘Jessica’ and ‘Ramblin’ Man’. Chuck has also recorded with The Black Crowes (Shake Your Money Maker), Eric Clapton (Unplugged, 24 Nights) and John Mayer (Born & Raised). Leavell has also recorded five solo albums. Chuck Leavell will perform at Cherry Bar, Melbourne at 2pm Saturday, March 29. Tickets are $60 from cherrybar.com.au Rolling Stones sax player Bobby Keys will also be performing his own shows in Australia during the Rolling Stones tour. Bobby Keys and the Suffering Bastards dates March 21, Adelaide, The Gov March 23, Sydney, The Basement March 24, Sydney, HiFi Bar March 27, Melbourne, Thornbury Theatre April 1, Brisbane, Eaton Hills Hotel Rolling Stones Australian And New Zealand Dates March 19, Perth, Perth Arena March 22, Adelaide, Adelaide Oval March 25, Sydney, Allphones Arena March 28, Melbourne, Rod Laver Arena March 30, Macedon Ranges, Hanging Rock from Ticketmaster.com.au April 2, Brisbane, Entertainment Centre April 5, Auckland, Mt Smart Stadium Triple M’s Lee Simon spoke recently with Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, Charlie Watts and Ron Wood. |

BTW... Chuck never played with the stones in 1978, the keys were played by Stu and Mac abd Chuck joined until 1982... bullshit about being a player since 1985 when Stu passed away

Don't see why they would have to cancel these dates, they usually do these piggy-back shows around the tours since the fans are already there and in a Stones-loving mood. But Bernard did leave to go with MICK to LA and he normally takes part in this. Anyone know for sure?

Chuck cancelled his show, but Bobby played his shows.

Probably Bobby had enough tickets sold to keep the dates but Chuck didn't. I've seen Bobby with the Suffering Bastards and it is worth the price of admission. Its amazing to hear how many other songs he has played on in addition to Stones songs. He's very fan friendly too.
