I want to check something a journalist wrote. Was Exile ever released in the US as a two-CD set? This would be in the 1990s.

Cant imagine so. The album is only about 67 minutes long. Even when CD's first came out and were only capable of holding 72 minutes of music, there would have been ample room for it to fit onto one disc.

In the 90's, no. The US market has seen the original CBS release, then the 94 remasters and most recently, the Universal remaster. All of them have been single disc sets.

The 2010 Exile reissue box set featured two discs. Disc one is Exile and disc two is the bonus stuff.

If you get really lit up, the single CD can often appear to be two. Maybe that's where the confusion stemmed....

Back in early 1986 I bought my first CD-Player and Exile was one of the first CDs I bought along with Hot Rocks, as far as I know my Exile is the very first US edition and it's a single CD with the legend "2-Record set on 1 Compact Disc"
