Title: 24 hours of Happy Post by Rev 20 Redlights on Nov 27th, 2013 at 12:17pm
Pharrell Williams works in a lot of music genres, both as
a performer and a producer. Hip hop, pop, and of most relevance here, the kind of neo soul practiced by Jagger colloborator Raphael Saadiq. Pharrel cites such greats as Curtis Mayfield and Donny Hathaway among his influences. (Also relevant: Pharrel is a member of the production team, the Neptunes, that brought forth the best of the Sympathy re-mixes). His newest hit is called Happy, and although its musically unrelated to Keith's song, I cite it here because its also quite an upper and because its much closer than most hits today to the kind of black pop that the Stones and many of their older fans grew up on. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y6Sxv-sUYtM And if that's not enough of a lift for you, here is the 24 hour version of the video... http://24hoursofhappy.com/ |

I like it but I'm half cocked already.
