THE SHINING is good also, but it is mostly a comedy. And SUSPIRIA can't scare a little smart child, even though it is great.

I'd like to revisit some of those HELLRAISER movies, although some of them seem to contain the roots of SHOCK HORROR PORN or whatever that SAW thing is called. I remember watching an Uwe Ball (is that the name? Fuck it; I don't care) and feeling instead of disgusted or scared, rather depressed. Watching an old lady getting hit by a hammer is not my idea of entertainment.

And speaking of that. What's the deal with Michael Haneke? (FUNNY GAMES may be alright; but FUNNY GAMES USA? WTF? Best thing about the former movie was the look in the eyes in that pretty girl who sold me the ticket, when I told her that I wanted to watch "JUEGOS SÁDICOS".) I'm sorry, but that movie is shit sandwich. It isn't scary and it's condescending.

Scariest movie for me, for a while, when I was naive and a teenager (duh) was that Nostradamus flick narrated by Orson Welles. Some cousins of mine, my sisters and I watched it, a long time ago, and were convinced that the end of the world would soon happen. What a fucking joke.

I algo like Tobe Hopper, Wes Craven, most of John Carpenter's stuff and John Landis. It's interesting how Steven Spielberg never made a horror movie, and how Ingmar Bergman's THE VIRGIN SPRING was later remade as THE HILLS HAVE EYES. Those cheap BLAIR WITCH PARANORMAL shit are awful; my mom thinks they don't scare anyone.

If I ramble too long is because I don't give a damn. Scariest stuff is in the news.
