I miss that chemistry between the Twins. You can just see the energy going back and forth. Where did all that go? No wonder the video is focused ninety percent on them. |

One of the best. The end of the video is better than the complete Waiting on a Friend clip!

Beautiful song. Saw that live at Astoria in 2003, one of my best Stones memories.
Shades of Loving Cup video. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ex1nxuM1fU8 |

That video (WAY) is AWFUL, though. It looks like a drunken rehearsal. The lip-synching is terrible, as it is in all of their late 70s and early 80s videos, and the corpse of Ronald Wood finger-syching someone else's guitar solo is just sad.

What is a Fiddler's Fart?
Is it one of those things you'll never understand if you have to ask? |

Have a gander at this... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d3eP1pqoP6U They're on the same page, chapter, book & groove, and all over each other's asses, albeit in an arena-y way. |

Just like that burned out cigarette, you threw away our love ~ why'd you do that baby?
MICK/KEEF answer their own question! I guess you know by now, you ain't the only one! Yeah, thats why! If you tell a girl she ain't that special, that usually leads to her finding someone who tells her she IS special. Sometimes men can be so dumb! |

I''m completely convinced that song is primarily about their own relationship, only dressed up as being about a woman - likewise with stuff like Sweethearts Together, Party Doll, etc. |

All About Hugh?
Stones ditties are explorations around a state of mind / theme, with verses shifting gear to a similar but different experience of that theme - a different angle or even character (or even gender), shirley? Maybe even Michael doesn't know which elements of himself, Bianca, Keith and assorted others inspired and coalescerized him to compile that lyric - but it's an interesting one and sung & presenting in a powerful way. |

Do you mean you think that MICK/KEEF were talking about each other? So if this song came out in 1975, that's when they started to fall out of love with each other already? I thought that was later on in the timeline when MICK went solo? Please elaborate! |

Title: Re: Worried About You Post by Gazza on Oct 7th, 2013 at 7:12am
Well it was first recorded in early 1975 - it didnt come out until 1981, but yes, their 'bond' was definitely past its strongest point by then, and had been since the late 60s and early 70s.
It was definitely affected by the antipathy between their respective spouses during the 70's (and throw in the bizarre sexual dynamics in the late 60s when they were both screwing each other's girlfriend), the different circles of people they associated with after they left England in 1971 and Keith's descent into heroin addiction. Mick and Keith effectively ceased to be a 'couple' in the creative sense of the word when they left Cheyne Walk (their homes were literally a 5 minute walk apart) and moved to France. It was never the same again after that. |

Title: Back of My Hand Post by Bitch on Oct 7th, 2013 at 6:46pm
I see love, I see misery
Jamming side by side on the stage In the wind some mournful melody I can read it like the back of my hand This sing from ABB is about them too. Back of My Hand lyrics even puts them on the stage together! Tragic irony. |

"The Rolling Stones are truly the greatest rock and roll band in the world and always will be. The last too. Everything that came after them, metal, rap, punk, new wave, pop-rock, you name it …. you can trace it all back to the Rolling Stones. They were the first and the last and no one’s ever done it better." - Bob Dylan
Gazza, when did Dylan say this? |
