Title: So no new RS tour in the fall? Post by LanternHigh on Sep 16th, 2013 at 6:52am
As I heard everywhere as many rumours. No tour in Europe, or in the States again. Maybe they are thinking of the next spring? When the weather is ok for use Arenas and big venues? Whether the prizes are higher as in the short last that they had done, I'll rest at home. Prefer watch a DVD of them . :(

There'll be more touring, but it almost certainly won't be in 2013. I genuinely think that there weren't enough European promoters ready to jump to their financial demands to make it worth their time. Some markets could have afforded it - but not enough to schedule a tour lasting several weeks, which was the plan. Supposedly they'll work on finishing up material for a Sticky Fingers box set (or a 'Let It Bleed' one, depending on other sources).
There is an offer available to the band for an appearance at another major event before the end of 2013 (cant say which one at present as its hush-hush and may not come off). Maybe its the 'something' that Ronnie's manager alluded to in his Sunday Times interview last week. |

Would they compete with U2's Gross destroying tour and hit album next year?
Not bloody likely. |

Title: Re: So no new RS tour in the fall? Post by Gazza on Sep 16th, 2013 at 4:20pm
No, because there's no chance of them touring on a regular basis to the extent that it would mean performing 100-200 shows in a couple of years.
I guess they'll have to be content with record grosses per show now and the dick-waving highest tour gross nonsense has been given up as a lost cause. |

I see. I'd thought it, because not every country can afford it nor in venues or the prizes. Maybe the last short tour was a kind of goodbye. They'd called Bill Wyman, M Taylor.. all the Stones were present, except Brian. You know. I agree, we could see them in some event.. with a large publicity. But I cannot know anything right now. |

Post by Ian Billen on Sep 18th, 2013 at 12:25am Actually, they have been finishing up demo's of brand new material and they recorded them right here in my basement. Sort of an Exile Part 2 if you will, ...with a new age spin. While Don Was goes out looking for coke in the wee hours of the morning I have been taking over with the boys. I promise, we'll deliver the goods .. .. .. ... |

STONES BASS PLAYER JOINS THE DEAD DAISIES
AAP September 20, 2013, 3:58 pm Australian supergroup The Dead Daisies have a new member - Darryl Jones, bass player for the Rolling Stones since 1994. The Dead Daisies have been in a studio in Los Angeles this week working on new music. "Had another day in the studio today and was great to have Darryl Jones bassist in the session as he'll be joining us for our tour of the UK in November/December," the band announced on Facebook. Jones joined the Stones after the departure of founding member Bill Wyman. He has played on the three Stones albums, Wyman's departure Voodoo Lounge (1994), Bridges To Babylon (1997) and A Bigger Bang (2005). The Dead Daisies' other connection to the Stones is drummer Charley Drayton, who also plays in Keith Richard's band. The Dead Daisies have just wrapped up a US tour with Jane's Addiction and Alice In Chains. They will tour the UK in November with Black Star Riders. The Dead Daisies features Australia's Jon Stevens on vocals and David Lowy on guitar. http://au.news.yahoo.com/entertainment/a/-/entertainment/19025576/stones-bass-player-joins-the-dead-daisies/ |

Why on Earth no little AUssie tour? Our dollar is good, our spring has sprung, a new government, new stadiums to play. Bloody hell, it would be a holiday for them!

Springsteen loved it so much this year. He's going back to Oz next year for an even bigger tour. At which point the Aussies will have gotten more shows than us Yanks in the last year. |

The Boss is so dofferent about the Stones.. he's enjoy plays music for his fans. The Stones look at the profit. Every their show is a business. They count the money that will go in their pockets. For this I love the Boss more than the guys.
