Long story short...

RO has had problems with Google in the past...problems like we were banned...a huge problem...but not from other browsers.

Anyway..as I brought my Glimmer Twins for their dental check up...I had a Keef T shirt on...Google has an office on the same floor as our dentist. As we were walking down the hall...a Googlehead saw me and recognized me from a few years ago  when I pleaded  our case and handed a letter of appeal to him drafted  by our beloved Unholy Trinity.

He had told me to Google RO and see what happens now. Apparently he is a fan...maybe even a member for all I know...If he is reading this...THANK YOU!!!

When you Google "Rocksoff", we are now on the first page...if you Google "Rocksoff.org"...WE ARE ON TOP BABY!!!!

So...everyone start Googleing "Rocksoff" and click on RO.org...lets get us to the top all the time!!!

We do have our suspicions as to what the source of the problem was, but happily it's all ok now!

I found this place all those years ago by searching for Rolling Stones message board. We're #2 on Google, #1 on Yahoo, #1 on Bing, #1 on DogPile, etc.

RO is always number 1 for me!

Correct me if I'm wrong, but if you search for a website and include the .com or whatever, isn't it always the first result?

And who searches like that anyway? If I am looking for rollingstones.com, I'll just type it into the address bar and go right to it.

I used to hate when the board moved in the past, I could never find the new one using google… This is great news and it proves that being an ambassador for the board or whatever you interest may be, goes a long way… you never know!!!!

well...this site isn't rocksoff.com (that site is registered to a concert promoter). That's part of the problem. Plus the fact that if you're banned from a search engine, its simply not going to show no matter what the URL is. At all. Which can lead to a huge reduction in traffic and possibly end up affecting the viability of funding the site to begin with.

People who arent familiar with the site or who dont know the address. Or who may stumble across the site by searching for something else Stones-related other than the site name (eg 'Rolling Stones Setlists' etc). If youre trying to attract new people to a site, the point of being registered on google isnt really aimed at the audience you already have who have bookmarked the site anyway.

Paul, I solved the problema some weeks ago, at the beginning the reach was low but growing, I had the plan to announce it later.

It costed us some bucks to fix it, this fix and the messdage board relocation costed us $1,000 USD

Again thanks a lot Mr. P. Stoned for all you did for us but the guys at Google didn¿t make a move, not a single... bastards!!

I'm glad that the website is on the engine. It works!
When I searched it 4 years ago, I came in using Voodoo's channel :)

Before today - no. But it wasnt on google at all until a few weeks ago.

We moved to this server in April 2008 and it hasnt been on google since we did (or if it was still there at the time, it wasnt for very long afterwards)
