Forgive my ignorance but who is the bass player playing with Slim Chance here? I'm pretty sure it's not Brian Belshaw. The late great Ronnie Lane was an underrated genius.

Thanks Voodoo, for clearing it up, I wasn't sure, Willie Weeks was a top notch Bassist back then Bowie wanted him in his band, a lot of people raved about him.

Thanks for the responses. Voodoo, I'm almost certain that is not Willie Weeks. He doesn't look like him at all. He really gives the band a real swing and for Ronnie Lane to hire someone to play bass is a real compliment.

It is Willie, he played that day, I'm sure, probably the look is not the usual, but you can check it

and of course is NOT Chrissie Stewart, he is white

Voodoo, trust me, I would defer to your knowledge on these things because you know far more than me but I promise you that is not Willie Weeks. Someone may have written that somewhere because he's black but Willie Weeks looks completely different. I'm a huge Willie Weeks fan and I've followed a lot of his career and that's not him.

To be honest, I still have doubts and think it's Willie, the time with the bassist it's too short on your video and other videos from the same gig.

They all show the bass player for a few seconds, not a single close up

Voodoo, take a look at the clip at around 1:50 and you can see the bass player quite well. He doesn't look like Willie Weeks at all. And on the clip you have, look at Willie Weeks' hairline, it's much fuller so it's not him. No one seems to know this guy.

Mystery solved on IORR by bye bye johnny and stonehearted. The bass player is Nigerian musician Biddy Wright.
