This could be real???
http://stonesplanetbrazil.blogspot.com.ar/ A new release of Sticky Fingers plus bonus as Exile and Some Girls will be out in November? Another source says Hampton 81 will be released on cd... |

Hampton is already available as an audio as it was released as part of the Stonesarchive.com series.
Dont you mean released on DVD/blu ray? Mentioned it in the other thread. Stonesplanetbrazil is a good source. This might have some legs, especially with the talk in recent days of plans for some recording in the autumn. More realistic to suggest its for a project like this instead of a new record. |

No doubt the $800 Limited Edition Box set will have a working zipper on the front.

My first thought when reading this was 'mastered version of Hillside Blues'. They must.

A friend of mine who works for Eagle Rock told me their next release on DVD would be Hampton '81 but that was a couple of months ago...he said the DVD in the SF box will be the Marquee.

Interesting. Not their finest 38 minutes by a long chalk but is pretty much all that was filmed from that era and it'll be nice to get it in pristine quality. Hope they throw in the rehearsals as well!

I'm looking forward to a SF deluxe version but I hope they'll rise above recent 'squabbles' and not airbrush Bill out.

I hope for - and would even purchase - a (cheerful and reasonably cheap) 4-CD boxed set, comprising:
1. the bestest Sticky Fingers re-master 2. Sticky Fingers out-takes (original &/or with new layers) 3. recent (&/or classic) live versions of Sticky Fingers tracks 4. club mixes of Sticky Fingers tracks, sample heavy; including Azealia Banks' phased in and out of old skool 'Brown Sugar' It would be interesting to use Warhol's early cover design (if it exists) of a stone rolling into a hole, or something (I think I heard). Or re-working the zip cover could be fun... the packaging opening to reveal the comparatively bulgingundies or raw nudity of a different Stone... The purchaser wouldn't know nil getting home whether their copy contained MJ's bounteous ball-sacks, Bill's bologna pony, or the smooth Wembley Whammer's winky before or after a Hollywood Wax MJ's ongoing patronage of MT certainly suits this project. There seems no reason why BW shouldn't pop in to aid on the out-takes. Lots to enjoy, shirley... Warhol, trousers, Cocksucker Blues, the (true) start of Ruling Stains Records & Ruling Stains (International) Ltd, Princess Rupertina Lowentrousers, Muscle Shoals musicology, Brown Sugar (perhaps the Stains' wittiest song), morphine and madness, and down the ro', down the ro', down the ho'ho'ho... your boat, gently down the stream, etc. |

There was a song of that title originally announced as one of the bonus songs on the Exile reissue as far as I recall, but it didnt make it on to the album in the end. Keith supposedly recorded a song with the same title in a session which included Jimmy Page in late 1974 and Mick is also supposed to have cut a song of that name with Brazilian musicians in Rio in early 1976. Whether these songs all exist or have any connection other than the title is another thing |

Claptons guesting on BS?
I'm going down? Apart from that, I don't know much of the era that would/could be included. But THIS is the album I want the special treatment for. Next....GHS! |

It'll be interesting to see what 'extra's' we get this deluxe release. Studio-wise, how about those versions of Brown Sugar and Wild Horses that ended up being accidentally released on first-pressings of Hot Rocks? As already mentioned, they could feature the Clapton rendition of Brown Sugar, too. Otherwise, I suspect we're looking at a handful of 1969-71 instrumentals with newly-recorded Jagger vocals.
Live-wise, I sense disappointment. Neither the Marquee Club performance or the Leeds '71 broadcast particularly excite me. Some folk at a rival message board - 'Tell Me' - have mentioned Bristol and Liverpool from the '71 'Farewell' tour of the U.K. as being possible options, which admittedly, would be a source of much excitement. We'll see. |
