Goddamn. Here's a guy who dedicated his life to music and never made a fuzz about it. A giant and I'm pretty sure he was a gentleman. A lot of his stuff helped me made it thorugh hard times, as with most emotional resonant singer-songwriters, but his stuff was unique. Concise, to the point and humble. It's like he was almost shy of his output.

I'm sure that if later today I hear "You keep me hanging on", "Don't go to strangers", "Homeless", "Carry on" or even his funny kind stuff (like "City girls" or "Call me the breeze") I will shed a tear or two. I own all of his studio albums, so I will continue to do so, with a sense of loss but with the same respect and gratitude. As some of you may know, english isn't my main language, so I may sound clumsier than usual, but this is about John "J J" Cale, and with his passing away it's almost like losing a friend. Rest in Peace, Cale.

A remarkable songwriter and wonderful guitar player. Rock and roll has lost one of its true greats.
