No guest announced? Should be an interesting night. I'll be right here!!! |

I'm going tonight. I like that there is no special guest announced. Also don't care that there's no fan vote. BRING ON THE MICK TAYLOR.
The ticket sales for this show have been shit. You can still make a run at a great deal of the expensive tickets. I'm hoping that works in my favor with my $85 grab bag ticket. |

OK, so this was pretty special. I took this security job as something to do for the summer & get to see shows. Only found out Thursday I was to work The Stones. Walked in to get our assignments, were told we were all to be on the floor. Ended up in the pit, the frigging pit, Keith side, right at the Pit entrance. Kept the aisle clear of people all night. Unobstructed view of the Riffmeister. Was really cool. They were better than Wednesday, Keith was on from the get-go. ADTL was terrific, as was Whip. Memory was the show stopper, fantastic. Taylor only for two numbers, great on Rambler, not present on Satisfaction. Pre show, got to see SV & her daughter, Bitch & her concert friend, which was as good as it gets. When I was in the pit, I look towards the entrance, Mr. Lawyer walks in. Talked with him for about a 30 min, it was great to see him again. All in all, a really terrific night....
Two footnotes.... Missed ya Scope, I was keeping the place secure for you. How's ARod working out for you? When we met @ Fenway, in '05, you asked me if we regretted not signing him, remembah? I get home last night, got an email I'm working Macca @ Fenway. Frigging Macca. I do not care for Macca, but duty calls. |

LOL. Yes i do remember saying that and I try to forget that A-Hole is on our team. Between that and your Bruins eliminating my Rangers, I am vulnerable to a lot of abuse. But sorry I got there too late to see you. I did spot you on duty from my cheap seats up in the rafters of 313 (not all of us were as fortunate in the $85 grab bag). View sucked but they did get sound right by the time GS took off. Lisa continues to do a great job on that. Memory was also fantastic as others here already said, but I was blown away by Rambler. I thought that was one of the best versions I've heard in years. Everyone was spot on for that one! Looking forward to a video of that to see it again! |

Smooth drive up for my wife, eldest son, and I after leaving Rhode Island around six. Minimal traffic, by Boston standards, and we got a GREAT outdoor parking spot one block from the Garden pointing to the 93 South entrance for rapid getaway! $40 though, EVERYTHING associated with this evening was high-priced.
Seats down low, but towards the back, decent people around us, most stood the whole show, and no one was obviously drunk. Security was never such that a quick puff could not be had. The opening strokefest video can be passed, but all is forgiven when starts.... 1) Get Out Of My Cloud, they look and sound great! 2) It's Only Rock and Roll, Keith takes a lot of Berry runs but this one still seems on the verge of falling apart at any moment! 3) Paint it Black, awesome, jammed out a little extra at the end, reaching four and a half minutes! 4) Gimme Shelter---Lisa might not have my ideal body shape nowadays, but she is sexy as hell and sings this even better, nice weaving by the gunslingers on this one! 5) All Down The Line -- fast and with tasty Woody licks and well-riffed Keithisms, but I did start thinking about the other original guitarist on this one! 6) Instead, we get Memory Motel---my first, and well-sung, well-played...the crowd loved Keith's parts....but I voted for Street-Fighting Man in hope of getting extra Taylor! Ah, well I suppose it was inevitable they played the song with the 'Boston' line in it! 7) When The Whip Comes Down---time and a half!! I never heard it played so fast and punky, almost unrecognizable, very cool! The most rearranged of any song of the night! 8) Emotional Rescue, I am one of its boosters and it was PERFECT! Mick sang all the falsetto parts and even did the crazed rap about Arab chargers at the end. It was a definite highlight of my Stones viewing experience over the years! 9) Doom & Gloom, well-played, not so well-sung. Mick flat here. 10) One More Shot---better, Charlie pumping away and Mick more into it. 11) Honky Tonk Woman, nice to hear nowadays that Keith can actually play the solo! 12) You Got The Silver--beautiful Woody slide-work, Keith's voice improved from recent tours, probably smoking less! 13) Happy, made us so! 14) Midnight Rambler, speaking of songs with Boston connections! Taylor finally emerges and his opening duet with Mick on harmonica sends chills up the spine. Then Keith slams into it and they are off in this sinister rock opera for the Ages! Mick Taylor wails away on numerous blues runs building the tension Jagger gives extra dramatic pause before asking the crowd if they "heard about the .......... Boston ......" BAM!! They bring it home perfectly and the crowd loses it!! Unfortunately, we then lose Mick Taylor who retreats all too soon. 15) Miss You, hey Mick sings the shit out of it and obviously loves it, so I will groove to it for the 20th or so time live! Daryl had a funky bass solo herein. 16) Start Me Up, oddly enough this beaten-to-death-war-horse may have been the best-played song of the night and Mick went insane in belting out the lyrics. The perfomance forced me into a whole new appreciation for the final songs, however predictable. They play the Hell out of them so that's fine with me. 17) Tumbling Dice, a chance for Bernard and Lisa to get more vocal time! 18) Brown Sugar, crowd loves it, Keith's opening riff was extra loud! Bobby Keys shines on the sax solo. 19) Sympathy For the Devil, ah the red lighting, Mick's funky fur coat to open was a hoot and the crowd participation with the "woo hoos" was cool. Keith and Ron traded nice solos. 20) You Can't Always Get What You Want, complete with the Boston University Marsh Chapel Choir! 21) Jumping Jack Flash, Keith's opening slash at the riff tore open the top of my skull. Best version I've heard them crank out since the 80's. 22) Satisfaction, and the return of Mick Taylor, a guitar army up there. This anthem was the perfect closer. A quick exit, no schwag, a little more traffic on the drive home, but nothing untoward. This band, especially Richards, is in FAR better form than the last couple of tours. My only complaint? MORE MICK TAYLOR!!! He's incredible. Although I am sorry this WAS surely 'The Last Time' I will see them, I am so glad my last memories will not of those train wrecks of autumn 2006! This day, middle of June 2013, the Rolling Stones are the Greatest Rock And Roll Band In The World! |

Last night's show was the best of the 5 shows I've seen so far this tour. All of the stars in The Stones universe were perfectly aligned in Boston. After doing all these gigs and repeating the same songs it all gelled and they got into a groove that was telepathic communication. Everyone did their parts with extra enthusiasm which made up for a few little mistakes here and there. My $85's were decent in Loge 11 and the sound was loud and clear. The crowd was on their feet from start to finish, singing along and cheering them on. It was incredible, MICK was over the top with his voice and his moves especially Start Me Up, Ronnie shredded, KEEF slashed it, Charlie as always was incredibly steady and particularly commanding, Mick T added some bliss to the mix, but he only got 2 songs which was a disappointment since there was no special guest. I must give a shout out to Bobby Keys because he adds so much flavor to the music, and he whaled. Lisa, Bernard & Tim also add great energy and undeniable talent. Memory Motel was the obvious song choice because when MICK sang back up to BOSTON, I'm singing in a bar everybody cheered, and there are so many cool bars n Boston! Midnight Rambler also hit a high note when MICK emphasized have you heard about the Boston! Bam! Everyone loved that. All Down The Line was hot, JJ Flash killed and so did YCAGWYW, actually all of the warhorses were played strong. My personal fave was WHIP because they fvcking nailed it, very powerfully played, sexy and hot! I always laugh when MICK sings when the shit hits the fan I'm sittin on the can! Who but the Stones would put that into a song? Very cool! Great seeing so many Stones friends again at the pre and post parties. I cant wait till Philly! The Stones are finishing up the tour very strong and on a high. I hope they continue on but all of them were noticeably exhausted which is understandable since the audience went home exhausted as well. Everyone said they are amazing to be able do what they do. The fans can barely walk afterwards, lol, I am seriously sore and very tired today, but happy. :D
