Comic book drawn to Keith Richards
Posted: Saturday, April 27, 2013 11:45 pm By Scott Tady [email protected] Look out, Spider-man and Batman — there’s a new superhero in the universe. He’s Keith Richards, the guitar-slinging, death-cheating Rolling Stone, whose half-century of on- and off-stage escapades have been deemed worthy of a comic book. “Orbit: Keith Richards” arrived last Wednesday, striving to be the illustrated life story of the “guitar god, hell raiser, junkie-outlaw and epic songwriting visionary,” to quote publishers Bluewater Productions. “Keith Richards doesn’t just play rock ‘n’ roll, he invented it.” From epic songs and shows, through drug busts and jet-setting adventures as Mick Jagger’s fellow Glimmer Twin, “Orbit: Keith Richards” is an uncensored biography in colorful ink. Written by Michael Lent and Brian McCarthy with art by Luis Chichón, the books are sold for $3.99 at Comic Flea Market, and also have an exclusive iTunes edition. Digital copies also will be available for $1.99, downloadable to e-readers from iTunes, Amazon, Nook, Kobo, ComiXology, Google Play and more. Not that Richards was the first to join Bluewater’s Justice League of Rock that already includes comic books and graphic novels on Elvis, the Beatles, Pink Floyd, John Lennon, Paul McCartney and Led Zeppelin. Two more musical avengers soon will join their ranks — Adele and David Bowie. Bluewater also has boldly gone where no man had gone before, partnering with William Shatner on a comic book, “TekWar Chronicles.” . © 2013 Timesonline.com. All rights reserved. I wonder what Keith would think about this, quite a compliment to be made a comic book hero, I wonder if any money is going to him, course he doesn't care that much about money.
