For all those planning on attending the first show at Staples, or will be in the Los Angeles area, a few of us would like to plan a get together most likely the evening prior to the first show. Depending on the responses, we can also consider the evening after. I'd like to get an idea of those who might be able to attend such an event, most likely held at a bar or pub in the Hollywood or Los Angeles area. You can either respond to this thread, or you can email me. The sooner I get your responses, the more suitable place we could find. I also created a facebook event

I posted this elsewhere...but keep in mind...the May 2nd date is not confirmed just yet...they need to sell tickets...but the date may still change, which is total bullshit for fans flying in...hotelling, planning on parties, etc...see my post below:

I guess they figure you can play this game in LA because with the Hollywood crowd, the show will sell out anyway,

so this encourages out of towners to make plans to go to another show....

If the LA show was on a weekend I would consider it BD. But I'm already in for Oakland and San Jose. So an LA show might be tough to do.

...I just wonder if a week before the shows if they will drop the price of the empty $600 seats to $450 or even $275?

I asked in another thread but it wasn't answered...

Did they do a price drop for any of the shows during the mini-2012 tour as it came close to the show date? I feel like they did but I could remembering a whole different act all together that did that.

Maybe on Stub Hub but probably not thru official channels.

That's the point of the $85 tickets I think. Actually selling potentially undesirable tickets for cheap up front is replacing the last minute fire sale as a method for filling the house.

the 2009/2010 Live Nation fire sales conditioned ticket buyers to wait, having the deals on day or weekend of sale does just the opposite.

I know, that's about 60,000 seats to sell overall. Most priced above $200. Good luck with that. Their may be a lot of beautiful people down there. But even they aren't going to shell out that money multiple times for the Stones. :whydontcha

Once again, planning an event the night before opening night.
If you are going to be in LA....and even if you are not going to the show. if you are on this board, you are invited. I hope to finalize the location within the next 24 hours or so.

I would like to get some kind of idea as to how many people we will have.

On Facebook, you can check out IORR Rocks Off L.A. Stones event.

As far as getting together a couple hours prior to the show, the Yardhouse at Nokia Center was suggested, I think that is a good idea.

By the time we parked and got to Staples and saw the line up for the 85s, there wasn't time to get over to the yard house. Sorry I missed whomever went.
