In for Hyde Park on the facebook presale at 8 am.

Was very easy once the Stones facebook page were reminded by thousands of swearing fans that when providing the link to the presale they should have also provided the password ('Satisfaction')

Proof that they really would fuck up a two car funeral. Idiots.

This probably a sham, but maybe it'll work.

NEW YORK, April 5, 2013 /PRNewswire-iReach/ -- Fans looking to find Rolling Stones tickets will be ecstatic to discover that Ticketability.com is offering seats for The Rolling Stones tour more affordably when promotion code, STONES13, is used during the ticket-buying process. This band is legendary, and demand to experience a live show is always high for every concert it schedules. This band has been performing live for 50 years. The group first went on tour in Great Britain in 1963. In fact, this tour is called the 50 and Counting tour for that reason.

Chicago and Toronto so far!!!

Nothing against Toronto...but to have 2 shows 12 days apart in the same venue divided by 2 other shows elsewhere......
they could have added an additional city like DC , Baltimore , Buffalo ( for LJ) or RALEIGH

GRATZ to you LJ and SV!!!

Question:

For those who got tickets today, how long was your wait time from making your selection to actually being offered tickets ?

Still waiting for LA dates (whenever  that might be) to go on sale. Considering the added dates, a second LA date could follow the Anaheim show and give the Stones enough time to get back east.

Wait time was about 5 minutes each time.

I tried to do both at the same time, but the last one overrode the first, so I did the second one after I completed the first.

The US sales were quite uneven. I was planning on getting tix for Chicago, which was going on pre-sale at 11 my time. So I practiced on Toronto, which went on sale at 10 my time. I just kept going back in. In the beginning they showed no pre-sale tix available, but after about 25 minutes a bunch of tix started to be offered. I was shopping the top price bracket, so I think a lot of people might have snatched them up, had second thoughts and then not completed the sale.

TicketBastard did try that old trick of selling crap seats to panicked pre-sale buyers. The first top price level seats offered were way at the back of the far end, or way at the back on the floor. This happened for both Toronto and Chicago. I just kept throwing them back, and eventually was offered seats in the area that LJ and I wanted. I think the key is not to panic. And definitely don't think the pre-sale is sold out just because seats are not available in the first couple of tries.

I know it is harder for the cheaper seats, as I'm sure more people keep them if they pull them, but don't let TM lead you to a bad decision.

And the fact that they added the show in Toronto and the show in Chicago during the pre-sales of the first shows really helped widen the ticket pool.

Good luck, West Coasters!

I was thinking about holding two windows open, one for each of the Chicago regular sales on Monday, although I intend on going to only one show.

Does TicketBastard not let you search/purchase two shows simultaneously from the same IP address ?

Nope don't do that..it won't work.

They do not allow you to have several windows open at the same time.

Yup.  You can test it right now with two random events but I remember doing it a while back and it didn't work.  I suppose it was a way for them to combat the scalpers.  Not a huge effort but it is what it is.

Dont you just love how they announce on TM a top price ticket of $600 (already fucking extortionate) and then when you go to buy them you suddenly find that the best tickets are $1500. You'd almost think they were ashamed or embarrassed to officially be selling tickets at that price - and then reality kicks in and you realise that these people dont have those kind of emotions.

Sounds fraudulent to me and not the first time thats happened (the 02 shows in 2007 were supposedly priced up to £150....but the front few rows simply never went on sale on TM - the only way you could buy them was to spend about ten times as much on a Fan Asylum package - but yes, Mick, we believe you, the Stones are against the re-selling tickets to secondary agencies....  ::) )

Their business practices really are for the most part indefensible.

Yeah that kind of happened to me. Got in at 10. After a 15 minute wait,no $170 tix. Could of got great $600 tix. But I passed. Went back about an hour later and dropped my request from 4 to 2 and got side of stage uppers for $170. 5th row so not too high, Just hope they're not obstructed view. But I'm in for Oakland. :willya

It really is a huge blow.  For a lot of my favorite acts I like to go to multiple shows around town if possible.  That looks to be out of the question here.  You'd think they'd want to give their fan base a chance to see them a few times on the tour....we'd still be spending money on them after all.  Yet, they choose to deny us that option.

EDIT: You can also say they gave us an opportunity to spend more because the cheap tickets sold out...
The upper end slowed down...so now they tempt you with another lower price...they are working it from both ends...

TM has been using the Dynamic Pricing model for about 2 years now...These boards have never expirienced it fully since this is the first tour since it started this practice...not much different than hotels and airlines do pricing.
That is how every guest/passenger is pretty much paying different prices...even in the same type of suite/row...

I can recall countless times...of camping out...staking a place in line at 7am...speed dialing from work...to get a great seat...there was such excitement
in "scoring"a great seat for the same price as someone 100 ft back and 1 or 2 levels higher than you. So many awesome shows growing up in NY!!!
MSG...radio City...Macy's for Ticket-Tron...all great memories and the friends you made that night were special, even if only until 10:45am the next morning!!!

Today...You score a better seat by selling a pint of blood, and taking an advance on your CC...(Thats the real sad thing Mr Jagger).

The game that TM plays with the consumer is much like a casino...the rules/odds are stacked against the player....and the HOUSE always wins!!

This is sooo true, Marvin (if anyone around here calls you that ;-)). I waited in line for 3 days for the Steel Wheels tour and those guys I waited with were the bomb. I had gotten there first so I was in charge of the list. I got 35th row, I think they sold out in 30 mins.

I remember being PISSED that there were chicks in front of us doing the Belinda Carlisle Bop who didn't even know the words to Brown Sugar. Still. Good memories.

Regarding the 2 windows open thing. I have done it before for high demand events. It did work if I was logged in to 2 different ticketmaster accounts, but it slowed down my computer to the point where it wasn't worth it. It would have been quicker to go on separately and purchase the tickets. Maybe the rules of the game have changed.

Sounds like others have had the same issue.

I was thinking after that I should have tried one in chrome and one in explorer, and maybe that would work. I did both in chrome.

But in any event, I got both shows, and at the prices I first clicked on -- 4 at the second cheapest for Oakland (which was the second show I got through for) and 2 at the next higher price for San Jose (can't remeber off-hand exact numbers, but safe to say I could do a semester along with the college guy if I was young and smart.)

I did the same thing with Oakland. had a chance at a nice pair of lower side satge tickets. For $600 each. Their is no entertainment in the world worth $600 a ticket.

I'm still looking for that show in texas to be announced!!! got a call from a frien in Sf, asking if I wanted to come out… can't make it happen, kids out of school, with flights and lodging, i would never be able to bring the family to make it happen… those days of jet setting are gone until my kids hit teenage years…. looks like I'm staying home, hoping and will wait for my other favorite still touring band to come through, at least Rancid should play Texas or i'm going to be crushed!!!

I know what kind of tickets I bought, but it seems my tier is moved around constantly, like some random shipping box, so god knows where I´ll end up.
I´ll start in the bar thats for sure...

I'm not sure what you mean here.

I was thinking about holding two windows open, one for each of the Chicago regular sales on Monday, although I intend on going to only one show.

Does TicketBastard not let you search/purchase two shows simultaneously from the same IP address ?

Sounds like others have had the same issue.

I was thinking after that I should have tried one in chrome and one in explorer, and maybe that would work. I did both in chrome.

But in any event, I got both shows, and at the prices I first clicked on -- 4 at the second cheapest for Oakland (which was the second show I got through for) and 2 at the next higher price for San Jose (can't remeber off-hand exact numbers, but safe to say I could do a semester along with the college guy if I was young and smart.)

The only way this works is if you use 2 computers, for example a laptop amd a desktop. Thats how I as able to score a ticket fot The Beacon, I had both computers searching at the same time and finally one ticket popped up on the desktop.

Friday should be easier for more people to take off work and travel which would be great for the pre and post party.

Worth re-posting these terms and conditions for anyone going for the $85 tickets

Over 1000 $85 seats available in the pit and throughout the arena. Strict anti-scalper measures will ensure that the tickets go to Stones fans and not the resale market. Sold only in pairs with seat location revealed night-of-show. Pick-up tickets night of show only, in person, with Picture ID, confirmation number, and the credit card used at purchase. Once you have the tickets in hand, you will be escorted into the arena. Any reselling or transfer of these tickets will void them with no refund.

This is the first time I've had to use computer/phone for tix rather than going to a Ticketbastard outlet as in the past (local outlets in Portland not selling Oakland tix).  The pros do this much better than I; I consistently got cheap seats in the third to fifth row before today.  This sux.

Had a bit of a disaster trying to score tickets yesterday, as TM decided I'd made too many hits - throwing the shit back they were asking $600 for !

I was trying for the opening Chicago date. Tried to buy a pair in 113, just as they blew me out . We have loose plans to go to he windy city for the 28th and 31st shows. Depends on tickets. I'm not prepared to risk the $85 lottery as I think most of them will probably be nosebleeds . Still locked out of TM, so not sure what we'll do . After the Hyde park FOS /Not FOS . Free Bar/ just a flushing loo disaster, this really put's the boot in. >:(

So, effectively all theyve done is change the date of the show from an approximate date of 'early May' to a provisional date of 'May 2nd'?

Bloody hell. God help anyone planning flights and hotels around that one.

Why on earth couldnt they just move the LA date(s) further back in the tour and start somewhere else? How difficult can it be?

The strange thing about this little disclosure is that San Jose AND Anaheim both have hockey teams as well, with Aneheim ( #3) way ahead
of LA (#8) at this time...San Jose (#9)just a hair behind LA...but THEY have no problems with those dates...
and Chicago ( #1!!!)...managed to fit in 3 dates with no worries... Philly,(#25) Boston (#4) and Toronto (#7) are BIG Hockey towns...yet...somehow...no firm date for LA...

I am not an NBA fan...but for for the record...LA has 2 NBA teams at Staples Center...Oakland, Chicago, Philly, Toronto, Boston each have one as well

"The prblem"...lets face it...it is hardly the bands problem...nor the promoter...it's the fan's problem...
the first two are just grinning...as the last is sweating it out...up until the sport schedule is announced...
I just want to see if the ticket itself has any notation about a schedule conflict...
Sure...concerts get cancelled...rescheduled...postponed...for whatever reason...but I have never heard of them getting "bumped" for another event...

:warhorseSorry if I seem to be going on a bit about this... :warhorse...but I called them out on  this a few weeks ago before ANY city or date was announced...$urely, if a dope like

Well, I went on and could have gotten a great seat, but at $640, I decided not to push the button as every other show in north America still has single seats at the top and next to top price ranges. I will wait until Monday to see what happens with either the $85s or my sister's connections. If both of those fall thru, then I will get the best available. Either way, I plan to be at the show.

It would have to be a day either side of May 2nd. They cant play May 4th as they have a show on May 5th and don't play two nights in  a row.

The only other two possible dates left for concerts in May are the 13th and either the 22nd or 23rd.
