Title: The Brian Jones Experience - Facebook & YouTube Post by Philip on Feb 17th, 2013 at 12:08pm
I've created a Brian Jones/Rolling Stones facebook page which is intended to focus on the sToNeD music from Autumn 1965 - spring 1968.
http://www.facebook.com/thebrianjonesexperience I plan to include videos showcasing and analyzing the music, photos and quotes relating to the music and musicianship of that stoned timeline. Related YouTube channel here: http://www.youtube.com/user/brianjonesexperience Like and/or subscribe and contribute if you are a Facebook and YouTube user. :nanker |

Congratulations and thanks Philip, great project from someone who really knows about Brian Jones and the early Rolling Stones, someone who have taught me a lot about Brian
I subscribed to your YouTube channel and liked it from our page (Rocks Off) as I don't have a FB account yet :smilebrian |

I'll have a We Love You mellotron part analysis and self played demonstration of the part up within the next week. :nomames
One of many examples of Brian's gift of achieving a lot of musical clout via a fairly stripped down choice of notes. |

My take on the piano and recorder from Ruby Tuesday. The recorder part on the original is magical and whether or not Brian played the piano on the recording is neither here nor there, I love it. :)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y4M-sD6itpQ Here's my take on Brian's MKII Mellotron flute part from Jigsaw Puzzle. It's a really weird part which involves a lot of use of the pitch control. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bN5A8EZ8B54 You can see the pitch control that Brian would have manipulated for his Mellotron part on Jigsaw Puzzle in this helpful MKII Mellotron control panel guide. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f9_R4rvfJvQ http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KVEu-U4mwlc http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fImvMRZvmDQ http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=67_ZHA47SRs http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gDpNHcKUYv8 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V94S0U4hTa4 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lh2FKLraMEk http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yL5qQJDIrB8 ... Esteban Vinci took my piano and recorder version of Ruby Tuesday and overdubbed vocals and acoustic guitar over it, he also had his friends overdub bass and drums. Here's the results... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sN2zGDVm5gQ :) |
