Hey guys
Please more respect Regardless of your religion I think any religious leader and any religion as well deserve respect and in this case even that I am no catholic I think this is the best Pope in years or centuries, one of the many things I admire is that this Pope at least finally put in clear what the Legion of Christ and the Regnum Christi movement have done for years: the unforgivable sin of child abuse. The abuse coming from any person is in fact unforgivable but when it comes from a teacher, an authority or a priest it deserves an eternal torture in hell. In fact Christ said something about those abusing of children... "they better attach a stone in his head and sink in the sea", don’t remember exactly as a quote but that’s the essence This Pope removed Marcial Maciel (founder and leader of the Legion of Christ and the Regnum Christi ) from active ministry, the abuse started in the 40s, this Legion Of Christ is really disgusting as they denied this and a lot more did the same for years, real orgies and child abuse and not just that, they own the more expensive Schools and Universities here and everywhere and they are billionaires and in the past with all the money they sent to the Vatican the complaints from seminarians and priests were just ignored In addition to the above Marcial Maciel and other colleagues were/are addicts to narcotics and get money from the drug lords to do the money laundry... you know. Check this out http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Marcial_Maciel He didn't wait and did it the very first year, he stopped those bastards Other thing I admire from this GREAT Pope and GREAT person is that is the first Pope that quits, all others left when they died So long live the best Pope in years and congratulations and thanks for all he did As per Marcial Maciel, the Legion of Christ, the Regnum Christi, please rot in hell, thanks in advance. The same for all who behind a religious authority abuse of Children, too bad there’s a lot everywhere… |

Thanks, Voo...I couldn't agree with you more.
I would bet gimmekeef meant no harm starting this thread; however, there is a sactity that goes along with the bestowed honor of being named Pope that should be respected. Politicians on the other hand? A whole different breed and vast variety of characters we can have 'an open season' with. |

I don't know why I have to respect the church or the pope..
Don't get me wrong, I'll RESPECT anyone that believes: Live & let live and all that stuff. But asking me to respect the church or the pope is like asking me to respect Disneyland or mickey mouse... it's just silly On the other hand, I have a believe as well: That the church is a rotten insititute of which the pope is the leader. So "best pope" no..., But i'll go with "Least bad"... I'm not trying to start shit here. and definitely not a discussion about wether or not God exists. those discussion never go anywhere, and I'm definitely not trying to change anyone's mind. I just don't think as a standard you MUST repsect the pope/church JUST because it's an institution or a tradition. That's upto each & everyone themselves... |

Voodoo are you a Catholic boy? I was raised Catholic but had to convert later in life due to outdated Catholic rules. They need someone in leadership to update the religion and modernize it to work in today's world.

Egon.. I was so smaller, and it was a schoking day for me. Since then I'd never go in a church anymore or trust to them. The most riches church of the world that just wants be a leadership and stop. It's all the contrary that Jesus wanted.. 'the poor will be the first' No debate about religion, but is simply hard for me talk about it. Today I did, but is always a schock think to it inmy nightmares. I couldnt ever believe to anyone since then. I think, my deep depression comes from that episode.. and I could ever fight against. But I wont no compassion, nor pity. I try to live my life normally. Very simple living. Thanks to you xx |

It's all about mutual RESPECT.
While I agree with Egon that we need to live and let live I cannot help but get the feeling that yesterday was "open season" on The Pope and the Catholic church. My Facebook wall was covered with mockery; some of it I found funny, some of it I found offensive. This is a free society though and I treasure the right to freedom of expression. I am by no means a Poster Child of a "good Catholic". My religious beliefs are mine and mine alone and I try to practice rather than preach. I do, however, find this trend towards Atheism, especially those who gleefully mock people of Faith, quite disturbing. That's just me. I really hope the next Pope is more liberal and tolerant and Lantern, I am so very sorry for what you endured. There are NO EXCUSES for this horrific behavior and the hierarchy of the Church has done a BAD job of weeding out the guilty. It's shameful. It's important to remember, though, that for every pedophile priest there are 50 good priests. At least that's been my experience. |

Wow......sorry if this offended anyone. It was not by any means a shot at the Pope or the Church......Voo can you please delete the thread with my apologies to anyone who felt this was a dig. Those who know me here know thats not my style.

LOL if you read my original unedited message I said I’m not a Catholic, not just that I don’t believe in the divinity of Christ, I don’t believe this world is “the paradise” with all the wars, hate, poverty, etc it’s hard to believe this is the return to the promised land, however I think Jesus was cool and his more important commandments are not followed by more than 99% of his followers and I mean not just the Catholics but all the Christian religions. If you ask any of his followers about commandments they mention those by Moses and come on babies, those commandments are in any religion, ethic code or law… but Jesus gave two commandments: Be perfect (“as my father is perfect”) and love yourself and all others, easy to say but if we all follow those commandments the world would be a cool place to be... however those commandments are never mentioned by the priests, most of their sermons are superficial and with no content As per the Catholic Church I think is a big business with a lot or irregularities, they are a business oriented organization rather than a religious team. Same for all variants like TV or web evangelists, I am sure someone or more than one entity did this great and majestic universe full of values and wonders and the spirituality is for all who seek the truth not for those who follow fake religious leaders and give a lot of money to save his fucking soul. LOL Talking about "Catholic Boys" I remember Frank Zappa who said: "Tax the churches and tax the business owned by the churches" and that includes schools owned by the Churches. |

So sorry to hear this, I think that is the worst thing an adult can do and as mentioned above but if that comes from a priest or any kind of authority is unforgivable. We as parents of our children ask them to respect teachers and authorities so I can't think of a worst crime to such an innocent victim. If that bastard alive? Even if that happened a long time ago you can sue the low life, or ask the Italian mafia to torture him :willya |

Agree LJ. Put me in the non-practicing catholic category. But my mother and Grandmother were deeply religious and I think whatever your beliefs are. People's belief's should be respected. It was open season on the Pope yesterday on FB. So many Pope Memes flying around. Including one's with Keith has Pope. Funny, but only for a second. Let the old guy retire in peace and let's move on. |

If I may remember well when in my catholic lessons, he and all the followers have to eat just fish. Isnt considered as meat. It came since the ancient times.. when the poor couldnt in no way eat the same of them. Gazza you can wear white as well, I'm seeing you already.. But I respect every belief, religion and ideal of the people. Have to be more understand and moderate the next at least for whose is in theirs church. |
