Title: New Hendrix unreleased track. Post by Heart Of Stone on Jan 8th, 2013 at 3:39pm Jimi Hendrix Goes Exploring on 'Somewhere' – Premiere Unreleased 1968 track features Buddy Miles and Stephen Stills Comment 18 January 8, 2013 8:00 AM On March 5th, 12 previously unreleased Jimi Hendrix recordings from 1968 and 1969 will be available as People, Hell and Angels. The legendary guitarist was experimenting with new sounds and musical directions for First Rays of the New Rising Sun, the planned double-album follow-up to Electric Ladyland, and on "Somewhere," Hendrix sits down with Buddy Miles on drums and Stephen Stills on bass for a far-reaching psychedelic blues jam. Recorded in 1968, "Somewhere" rides signature Hendrix wails, long exploratory solos and free-flowing wordplay. Rolling Stone's Greatest Guitarist of All Time shows why he's earned that title with unparalleled skill and eternally innovative sounds, but "Somewhere" suggests his most complex work may have only been ahead of him. Sounds fantastic...I have not really enjoyed his new releases from the last 20 years or so...this, however, sounds almost fresh and retro, ala Black Crowes...
Looking fwd to it. |

This Sunday, January 20, CBS will air a special episode of Hawaii Five-0 after the AFC Championship game which will debut previously unreleased music from the new Jimi Hendrix album, People, Hell and Angels!
The episode will include 7 unreleased songs from the music legend. The tracks, "Bleeding Heart," "Mojo Man," "Hey Gypsy Boy," "Inside Out," "Crash Landing," "Hear My Train A Comin'" and "Somewhere," make up seven of the 12 songs on the upcoming brand-new Hendrix album People, Hell and Angels, which is available for pre-order now! my favorite track "Mojo Man" |

Saw this on iTunes yesterday... listened to one song (believe they only made one available for pre listening) and most of these were bits and pieces of studio jamming. You can tell where that ends and recent production starts, making it way to obvious..... at least try to mimic same recording of the time so its blended better because even a home user of Cakewalk, Ableton Live, Reason, heck even Garage Band can hear the obvious recent work. Realizing there is no other way to do it i understand but it stands out way too much when listening so one can only wonder what rest of songs will come out like. Hendrix parts were good some short real good ones but knowing the family fight over his music rights the production reeks of a money grab otherwise why not do a better production job? He deserves at least that. |
