when did that start? Keith can be funny but every single time he speaks he will add that raspy laugh. it is an odd and to me unfortunate habit.

His raspy punctuation at the end of each and every utterance is as old as time and cigarettes...I can't remember him not doing it!

I think it's great Keith has such a sense of humor, great to be a survivor & have a laugh too, a lot of his situations were funny.

When I was in the same room as Keith for the Crossfire premier, he didn't do it at all. He spoke clearly Also, his hair is pure white but photographs differently. I was right in front of him and yeah, he spoke unlike anything I've heard from him before. Odd! I think he has a persona he puts on for the press etc.

it is a legit question...watch older interviews. he did not do it before or during the junkie days. I am not busting on him. I am just curious about when this trait took hold.

I might be wrong, but my guess is that this trait took hold in early autumn, 1994.

I think it's mostly jive. Bill Wyman said in '81 that Keith puts on this big act - the whole pirate thing - to cover up for his insecurities and great shyness.

Keith's a fun interview and a very bright guy, but he's really not very funny nor especially witty.
He's just got a big personality and loads to say about lots of things, not the least of which is Music.
