I remember singing 'Yellow Submarine' (with my own rewritten words for the occasion) to my newly born sister in 1966, when I was 3.

Don't know if this counts as a Rocksong.
The first song that thrilled me was "She loves you" by The Beatles. I was 11 back then. Grandma gave me the money so that I could buy the disc. That was my first single and - as well as all the others I bought from then on - I still have it. |

I remember Bitch at 3, i'm sure a sang along to Brown Sugar too, but the curse word made it special. Fwiw, I took my Dad's lead, and do not censor any music b/c of cursing in the lyrics. Works great for my oldest, but my youngest is not in cursing, and has become the potty mouth police. Which sucks, b/c I like the new Green Day, but the say fuck all the time… ugh! kids!!!

I don't remember one particular song. But, I have always enjoyed listening to Classic Rock.
I go through phases. I went through a metal phase, Latin phase, a hip-hop phase, gospel phase, etc. but I always go back to rock. |

About forty-six years ago. It was either Dead Mans Curve (Jan and Dean) or Viva Las Vegas.

It was the radio, I can't pick out any particular song, but I do remember The Beatles in '64 that stood out for me, their songs were on the radio all the time, I had the 45 "I want to hold your hand/I saw her standing there, which I played over & over driving my older sister crazy, A World Without Love by Peter & Gordon was another, The House Of the Rising Sun another one by The Animals, they were just songs that were on the radio.

I was almost 4...Dad came home from work, complaining about some "awful" song he'd heard on the radio. It sounded interesting to me....:) So, the next time we were in the car, the dreaded song came on the radio. Dad turned the volume up, and, sitting in the back seat of the '54 Chevy, I leaned forward, rested my chin on my out-stretched arms (WAY before seat belts came along!), and lost myself in my first rock song----"Hound Dog" by Elvis Presley! :)

Reminds me of a story. My sister was a huge Beatles freak, and she won a radio contest on WQXI in Atlanta. The prize was "a letter from George Harrison." Of course, she thought she would be getting a hand-written letter personally from Harrison, but it was just a letter to one of the station executives from Harrison concerning some promotional deal. :pukey |

My brother was used to told me how was difficult find LPs from the States or UK in the 60s and early '70s.
If you had a friend there, he could find and then send you the music stuffs that was come out in that period.. or whether not, you should wait even 6 or more months before to come to know the new music and the bands you preferred. In Italy never in the radios one could listen a rock song. If is was that the Beatles and Stones didnt exist.. mine expecially in those years it was the country of beautiful chants, just melodic songs. Rock? what is it was? Something of evil or just a kind of rebellion of the youth? Nobody knews. It didnt exist. but with the '68.. all changed.. all. And who knews about Bob? Just rare people.. |

No idea but I think it could be the Beatles or someone from the early "British Invation" there were many records at home, I'm the sixth child of seven so it was good for me to have rock at home since I was a baby

At age 10 or 11 it was JJF from Ya Ya's that did me in.
Carol then finished the thinking and it was solid, the Stones rule. |

In your list I know few, rare artists, HOS. Just the Beatles and a couple of the others. Ufortunately in my country wasnt yet the right time for them. The news or magazine never talk about them.. and all was belonged at the 'Beatnick' muisc was verboten, forbitten in asevere way. How we could have notices of them when one lives in a country where the religion is related anc connected with all what belong at our privacy? Impossible escape. :( But we later raise up with the knowledge at least. So 45, LPs was searched and sent from Usa and UK. We just not should get the british invasion, but also the knowledge of the new muisc across the atlantic ocean :nooslajaleisk |

the playground swings...that would be age 4 or so...the later pop songs I recall are The Jackson 5's ABC, 123..... Sing, Sing a Song...the Sesame Street Theme, Sunny Days, and Joy to The World by Three Dog Night |

I'm old enough to remember radio before the Beatles. I was born in 1957 so I don't recall the first wave of rock (altho
I've always secretly thought that I heard Little Richard in the womb!) Earliest rock song I recall singing along to was "The Twist" by Chubby Checker. |

'Satisfaction' on the car radio as my Mom and I drove back from a day at the beach. I was 3, so it would be the summer of 1967 (and she was only 21!). I loved it and asked "what was that?!?" and she told me. I have been a Stones fan ever since! Thanks, Mom!
