Title: Typical Stones "Ballad"
Post by DiamondsDisease on Dec 14th, 2012 at 10:03am
As much as I love "Wild Horses". I would love to hear them do something like "Backstreet girl", "High and Dry" or "Sitting on a Fence". I love those songs. There is no other band in the world who could have written a "ballad" like that. Such wonderful sweet melodies, but if you listen to the lyrics it's anything but a ballad, there is no word for that to discribe that kinda music just "typical Stones Ballad". Maybe one day they rediscover those unique qualities again, would be nice if they would play anything like that tomorrow. Just to honor those unique qualities again.

Agree 100%

That clip of them working on "Sittin On A Fence" in 'Crossfire Hurricane' was one of the best parts of the movie for me (I presume its taken from the expanded 'Charlie is My Darling', which I havent seen yet)

I think Mick & Keith when they started writing it was ballads, That Girl belongs to Yesterday, As Tears Go By, Play with fire, Tell Me.
