Been hearing promos on this all day.
The reporter is a decent journalist.
Glad it's happening now, as in January this show is getting buried @ 1235A
Plus is Jimmy Kimmel is moving to 1135P

Not a bad little segment. I'm sure the questions are heavily vetted and the whole segment obviously heavily edited, but the interviewer didn't seem like a douchebag and the lads seemed pretty relaxed and forthcoming.

Thanks for the heads-up, Gazza.

Nah, I didn't get that vibe at all. In fact the interviewer took the tone that the Stones are an ongoing concern, a working band.

Mick did say something like 'I just can't wait for it to be over with', meaning , I think, each individual show. Ya know - Jagger's usual blase, 'oh I can't be botherd, I't's all such a hassle' sort of bollocks.

Mobbsy, it was just on Sky news. Fair i/v too. Mick said they dont write songs together anymore. And when asked how they getting on, he said ok. Keith said so long as they got things to do like rehearse & play, they get on alright. Beware of the down times though! lol

Jagger looking for to the whole 50 yr thing ending, but no mention anything else. Ronnie on the wagon & Charlie said he's doing well.

sadly, no mention of them joining us for a bbq, but of course, they want to be coy about that.

Yeah, the 50 year thing Jagger wanted to be over, not individual gigs. That's right - the interviewer said 'you're not a sentimental guy, are you?' and Jagger said 'nah, I'm not'.

That was the context of him saying he just wanted the 50 year thing to be over. Thanks for jogging my memory Gorgi.

Definitely.
I remember an interview with him in, I think, 'Musician' magazine, after 'Voodoo Lounge came out.
One question asked if Keith was as tough a task-master as Miles Davis (whom Daryl had played with before his death), and Daryl said yeah, they were very similar.

He was also asked if Keith still played really loud, and Daryl said that in the studio, mostly you're tinkering and going through riffs and chord sequences and the guitar guys setting up their amps and looking for tones and a lot of talking and fucking about. But when they'd actually go for a take (especially in full band rehearsals), that Richard's guitar playing had a, and I remember this quote -  "deer in the headlights" quality to it, meaning he was still really loud and forceful.

I'll have to rewatch it. I thought he said they don't write songs together anymore in the same way they did in Charlie is my Darling.

Right. Meaning: in the same room, face-to-face, bouncing ideas off each other. Incredibly, Mick says they can't collaborate like that anymore because they live on separate continents. But they did so at least as late as the Voodoo Lounge sessions, and, thanks to the miraculous bootlegs Voodoo Brew/Stew/Residue, we can hear what it sounds like in real time.

The truth is, they -- or at least Mick -- don't want to collaborate like that anymore.

It was a good question. The "Nightline" guy must be a fan to know the backstory of how the Mick/Keith feuding plays out even when they're "getting along."

The most telling thing for me was when Mick was asked what his relationship was like with Keith, he pointedly said we have a good working relationship. Although I think they will always have a love for each other, they really have almost no personal relationship left.
