We need a good drug/alcohol thread.  Been a long time, since maybe 2007.  Intoxication has been pushed to the wayside here, in favor of an almost Mormonesque vibe, which some of us find repugnant.

As weed use for medicinal purposes was voted upon & won here in the Peoples Republic Of Massachusetts, I am in the process of converting my backyard to a legal marijuana farm.  I plan to have tastings of varietal brands in the near future.  As Jed Clampett once said, "there's gold in them thar hills".  I'm going to go all Popcorn Sutton with this.

As Ken Kesey used to say, "Just say thanks!"  As for the optimal headspace for the Stones, my recommendation is 1) a very small dose of LSD (just enough to brighten things up), 2) ample quantities of cocaine, 3) hashish or succulent ganja to taste, washed down with 4) your favorite distilled spirits.

It's different today, there is a Drug scene but certainly not like it was in the 60's/70's, I mean people can't even smoke at concerts which is good because it get's out of hand not even counting this non-smoking thing, Nicotine is a drug, Alcohol is the most powerful drug around, it will make people have blackouts/do things they would never imagine in a million years, get in fights/say things they have to apologize for/drive drinking thinking their allright,  we all know this, this is people who can't handle booze, there's a hell of a lot of them around, now Cannabis & hallucinogens gives you a reality check, totally different, you would think those people who can't handle booze were absolutely insane in the things they do, & the funny thing about it is the drugs that are legal are ten times worse (in a lot of cases) then the drugs that are illegal.

for a rock show the best is weed and psychedelics in small amounts as mentioned above, also booze but NOT pills and powders (you've gotta choose your medicine), I remember a ZZ Top show when my friends and I sniffed a lot of cocaine and drank a lot of booze, I didn't enjoy the show for the tremendous amount of cocaine we used

My parents busted me with weed when I was 14, later they used to tell me that drugs kill and that the Rolling Stones won’t live more than 30 years… my dad was addict to tobacco en he passed away by lung emphysema at the age of 59 and my mother (passive smoker) passed away by cancer at the age of 61… so my parents passed away victims of a drug addiction!!

If instead of alcohol the legal drug would be weed the world would be more productive

I went to see Jackie Greene in San Francisco last friday. The Fillmore is notorious for it's pot smokers. Jackie had been battling a cold and posted on his facebook page asking fans coming to the show to keep the smoke down. They actually burned incencse and had fans on stage to blow the smoke away. :weed :weed

opiates of course...the stronger the better... nodding and dreaming the show away..... so to put in context the peeps who came through the influx of white powder via Vietnam in early 70's... todays world would be 20 or so percs, 100mg methadone, couple or 4 bags, 5 or 6 diluadid, or mscontin, heck is England still giving out scripts to addicts or did they realize that didn't work out so well :)... I mean who knows what the guy next to you is doing/on... those that made it through can hold their own when needed. either way hope they enjoy the damn show. be a shame to be dreaming thru it on anything but the music.

All the booze and drugs in the world wont make you feel better about life if you are unhappy on the inside. But one thing that always makes me happy is The Stones, better than any drug and not as damaging to the body.
