Did anyone get an email from the Stones Archive with passwords or anything?

It's usually the customer service # on the back of the AE card.

HOWEVER, from what I'm seeing on the ticketbastid website...the CHEAPEST seat available is $950  :forfucksake

It's my understanding that today's pre sale is also for people who have registered for the archive website. Am I right or wong in that thinking? I do not have Amex.

the archive said emails start to go out at noon today Monday 10/22/2012 for archive sale... BUT i am starting to get that feeling all the pre-sale is turns out to be more hype for brussels affair package set with tix. I could be wrong though I like to think I am always rite... at least i tell my wife that. but have windows open for each date, each stones site and no one received an email that posted they did.

I will say reviews on Crossfire Hurricane are mixed... most loving what was done with 60's-70's but leaving much out of next 3 decades. Me..... the HBO preview looks mighty damn fine. more psyched for that than this scramble for 2 shows!!!!

======================

just pulled up crap you don't need email its just the brussels affair pac and i was section 6 row 16 2 tix for $2450.... pass that BTW was for thrusdays show sat i get zilch... since its the PPV and special guest nite.

No options for anything regarding an email list is on ticketmaster so I guess it's general ticket sales for me on Friday.

I tried the Amex pre-sale.  What a crock of shit!  After a few minutes of being shut out of cheap seat combinations, for shits and giggles, I tried 'Best Available'.  After 10 minutes, I got 17 rows back in the furthest section back, 95% up this arena's ass!  AND THOSE WERE $813 PER!!!!  Curiosity satisfied, I closed the page without further ado!
Public on-sale is my last hope---this Friday.

Not a bad seat all things considered.
If I want to see them in the Spring I now know what I'm in for.
As for Newark, it's Pay Per View.

I would pay 800.00 for a decent seat (not the one above) knowing that it was the absolute LAST show I'll EVER see by the Band.

It would have to be in NYC where I could stay with a friend and get a reasonable flight in Spring.

I must see them again.

Title: Re: Today's NJ pre sale

The ONLY band I would even consider paying that much for, would be Led Zeppelin @ Madison Square Garden.

Because I would know that would truly be the last opportunity.

Good luck to you Lady Jane in 2013...hopefully you find a better priced ticket.  :smilemick

I paid $161 for around that section at Madison Square Garden in 2006. And THAT was considered pricey at the time.

More than Five times as much now.

Bit hard to describe it as 'not a bad seat' for $813!

Thats exactly right. $286 for upper level isnt that bad compared to what people were paying at the 02...£400 for bonafide nosebleeds.

As there'll be scalpers aplenty and would-be chancers desperate to offload their tickets at the last minute, anyone with a ticket can afford to be patient.

There's nothing about seeing them right now live that is even feeling like something I wish I was doing... It might be because I was resigned my last time seeing them, was ok being my last time... It really freed me from all this stress and one last shot business... I have a feeling, I will be able to see them in Texas relatively soon... and for very little money!

I plan on sneaking into the PIT, unless they use a special bracelet or handstamp or something, otherwise it should be easy! I have a few friends in the house with PIT tickets for that night so I'm going to try it.

and

Then for the second show on Saturday night I'll go there with some cash and scalp a ticket under face outside the door. We'll see how much those tickets end up selling for night of the show! And if I cant get one I'll still party with my friends before the show and it's not too far from my home so it's worth a shot.

THAT'S MY PLAN!

I really hated on recent tours when I would plunk down good money to sit along the B-Stage and a bunch of people who didnt pay for those seats would force their way into my row at the last minute and cram in and ruin the whole experience.

Sounds like the tongue pit is going to be a shit show too with people scamming their way into an already too crowded section.

I urge anyone doing this to think twice and think about their fellow fans.

Pushing your way to the front, or being in an area you didn't pay for, or standing in front of other ticket holders is a rock and roll concert standard. I recently saw it at a BB King show. As soon as he walked out, everyone from the back of the venue moved right to the front.

Title: Re: Today's NJ pre sale
Post by Steel Wheels on Oct 23rd, 2012 at 9:32am
I was three rows back from the B stage. As soon as they came close I ditched my seat to be closer to the band. I'm guilty of it. I don't think anyone can stand in their assigned seat when the Rolling Stones are that close.

Theres bound to be a good offer on that Some Girls Live '78 blu ray!

I'm much the same.

A week on from the on sale date and I'm more content than ever that I'm sitting these shows out. And more convinced than ever that anyone paying money they dont have to attend them needs certified.

The band I've followed for 35 years is dead, and I've been slowly getting more resigned to that eventuality for the last five years.  If this is what the remainder of their career holds in store for live events, I've zero interest in supporting it. the shows are now more about seeing old friends and I can do that at other shows, events or holidays instead.

They're still my favourite band and I'll still buy the archive releases and love the music thats given me so much pleasure for decades, but as they clearly dont want fans like me at their shows, unless there's some serious fan-friendly changes next year  I've no qualms at all about telling them to stuff it. Theyve made it easier for me to walk away than I thought they would and I refuse to pay a week's salary for two hours 'entertainment' via a video screen in a nosebleed seat just because of the 'this could be the last time' emotional blackmail bollocks.

Obviously there are good people out there for whom this is a bigger investment emotionally, and I can empathise with them to a large degree because I've been there myself, but I've different priorities in my life than I had 5,10 or 20 years ago -and self-respect is a major factor as well. If the Stones feel the need to have a huge laugh at their fanbase's (considerable) expense, then they can do it at someone else's, I'm afraid.

A gorilla walks into a bar and says, "A scotch on the rocks, please." The gorilla hands the bartender a $10 bill.

The bartender thinks to himself, "This gorilla doesn't know the prices of drinks," and gives him 15 cents change.
The bartender says, "You know, we don't get too many gorillas in here."

The gorilla replies, "Well, at $9.85 a drink, I ain't coming back, either."

I've no leave left from work, and the airfares are pretty high but had I any assurance in advance of getting a ticket, I'd have been there like a shot. I even had an offer of accommodation.  Only the uncertainty over the ticket distribution prevented me.  8-)

So will I get to see my sweetness of Virginia then? I know the Shidobbes will have a party, we all should meet there. Been since the Beacon.

TomL you fvcking nut, blow jobs not necessary, unless I meet somebody cute and fall in lust that night! I hope so...nothing gets me hornier than being in the same room with MICK!  But seriously, there is no way my ass will ever reach the nosebleed seat that I paid too much money for. I'm not going there. I'll find a way to upgrade. Its easy with a $50! Sometimes $20, $25, $40 etc depends on the gig. One time someone asked me to pay $100 and I gave them $25 and they took it. Always someone looking for an easy way to make some extra cash. NJ = corruption and payoffs. We approve of it!
