Two Rolling Stones-Related Concert Collections Being Released as Special Vinyl Packages on Tuesday
10 September 2012 Two recently released albums featuring vintage concert performances from The Rolling Stones will be issued on vinyl this Tuesday as part of deluxe multidisc audio-and-video packages. The Stones’ Some Girls: Live in Texas ’78 and Muddy Waters and The Rolling Stones: Live at the Checkerboard Lounge Chicago 1981 both will be available as special-edition two-LP/DVD/CD sets. Some Girls: Live in Texas ’78, which was first released on DVD, Blu-ray and CD last November, documents a July 18, 1978, performance in Forth Worth, Texas, during The Stones’ tour in support of their classic album Some Girls. Live at the Checkerboard Lounge, meanwhile, initially was put out as a DVD and a CD/DVD set in July. It features performances from an historic November 1981 Muddy Waters concert in Chicago at which several Stones sat in with the blues legend. The show also included guest performances from renowned bluesmen Buddy Guy and Junior Wells. The double-vinyl versions of the albums included in the deluxe packages come on 180-gram vinyl, boast a DTS Dolby 5.1 mix and are housed in a three-way gatefold sleeve. Both Vinyl Special Edition sets are priced at $39.98. Copyright 2012 ABC News Radio |

These two releases are Eagle Rock products though, whereas the Brussels release is just one of the downloads. Unlikely, but maybe they'll release a signed version of Brussels for $2,000! |

I'm really hoping the next deluxe box set package will include a Stones matches and 1975 replica oily rag so I can just start burning my money instead of buying all this crap they're hawking us.

Before everyone goes nuts, I read that these vinyl masters are not cut from analog sources and the sound quality is so so. Can anyone confirm or deny this info?
