Title: If you could possibly...
Post by Some Guy on Aug 27th, 2012 at 3:28pm
...witness any event in Stones history, what would it have been?

I'd honestly say I'd like to have seen Altamont.

1. Keef's fall from the tree in Fiji
2. Sitting / Standing in the audience for their 1973 performance at Brussels'
3. Charlie punching Mick in 1984
4. The look on Mick and Keef's face as Mick Taylor quits the band ( why ? )
5.  Omaha , 1964 ( six hundred people in attendance at a 12K arena  --- rectified in 2006 [ 17K for QWEST CENTER -- SOLD OUT ] )

Well that's a funny and interesting question. For me it would be the famous "Kurhaus concert" in Scheveningen the Netherlands in 1964, august 8. Their first live concert outside of England. But I was 12, almost 13. So that was out of the question. Charlie punching Mick would be second (LOL)

This is an easy one. I'd like to know where they really were October 27, 2006. They certainly were not in Atlantic City.

I'm with Joey, in part...I'd like to have seen the show at Harrisburg's Farm Show Arena in 1964 (300 people in attendance, rectified in Hershey 2005), but mostly, I'd like to have seen Charlie punching Mick for calling him "his drummer".

:whydontcha :nomames

Sure...Not in a macabre way...or as an accomplice...but like in a Ghost Of Christmas Past sorta way...to see what actually happened...i know
someone ( the caretaker?) confessed a while ago...but in 40 years time...the mind can change things up...

as for the others on my list...the Dirty Work sessions to hear what the hell they were thinking...were eyes rolling? Or Did they actually think it was some great opus...
The US tour bus...just to see/hear their impressions of America a the time...
The Cohl thing...to witness the beginning of the end of the rock n Roll concert as we knew it to be...as well as their astonishment and disbelief...

My three 'must see' Stones events all seem to relate to Chicago :

1) Staying in the Playboy Mansion when they played there in 1972.

2) Checkerboard Lounge with Muddy in 1981

3) Gotorollme confronting Tele after he tried to avoid a bar tab in 2006.
