Can you imagine the balls it takes to strap yourself on top of a Saturn V rocket and shoot yourself 239,000 miles into space and be the first to walk on another world ?

Rest in peace, Neil Alden Armstrong.

Don't go there man. Would a change land a rover on Mars?

So those "beep" sounds were also for censoring Armstrong's language when he landed on the moon ?

The FTC and American media really do suck big time, don't they ?  :pukey  :loloncemore

One artist though who was having a difficult time trying to make it in the music business wrote a song about the Moon landing, but it didn't happen till 2 years later.

That song was written and released to coincide w/ the Apollo 11 mission...What 2 year delay do you speak of?
The BBC even played the song during it's coverage of the "presumed moon landing"

I had the pleasure of shaking Neil's hand at KSC in 1999 when the crew returned for the 30th anniversary...I told him I felt like I was shaking hands with Christopher Columbus...he said he felt nearly as old as Columbus! He told a great, off color joke at the dinner...he had a great sense of humor and was the rareist of all creatures on the earth, and the moon, an engineer with a personality!:) RIP Neil!

neil armstrong was not one of the original mercury 7. john glenn was, and he is still alive, along with carpenter.

of the 12 men who walked on the moon, four are now dead.

people forget that neil armstrong was almost killed when he went into space with the gemini program - he was trying to link up with another ship and lost control or something to that effect. his pilot skills and quick thinking saved his crew and his own life.
