He played the Anthem for the Summer Of Love in '67, I remember that song so well, the Tourist board should have paid him & John Philips for all the free advertisement.
He had another single but it didn't do as well as "San Francisco"

I think Mr. McKenzie helped or co-wrote Kokomo with Mike Love and others, A late if notthe  last Beach Boy Hit in  1988...............
Not my favorite by no  means, a My Ding a Ling........ song, sorry Chuck. :tongui

RIP Scott, hope he's now wearing some heavenly flowers there

I love the psychedelic years, especially 1965-1969, he wrote one of the anthems of this great era, Led Zeppelin added a very "special" version during the performance of Dazed and Confused

Rip Scott Mc Canzie :( I enjoyed your music, and liked that era.

RIP....and he did write Kokomo for Beach Boys..or co-wrote.....his song about SF resonated about a better time and it will always be there......

Another sad one....:( I mentioned this in the Phyllis Diller thread, simply becuase I heard of FOUR deaths yesterday {one might have been the day before}. It was just too much information to process at one time...:(
