Title: Mars mission Curiosity a success!! Post by Bingo on Aug 6th, 2012 at 1:22am
The Mars Mission Curiosity is a success!!!! NASA had a cool "live" program that simulated the mission/landing. I was able to move the rover and it's relationship to the stars. I took these screen shots as it was happening live. What a trip that was!!!

They are not trying to PROVE or DISPROVE anything... There is A LOT greater "massive waste of time and money" here on Earth. Science for the sake of science and exploration is never a waste...an investment in knowledge and discovering the previously unknown is a good thing...it is what drives us as a thinking, intelligent creature. Of course the money could be spent here on Earth...that is an entirely different set of perimeters and hurdles to get over. |

I agree with my esteemed compatriot Mr. Android. The science and technology involved in getting Curiostity to the surface of Mars was mind-boggling in and of itself. Watching the landing go off without a hitch reminded me of my childhood in the 60s, when the Gemini and Apollo missions thrilled me and made me (and the rest of the planet) rethink what was possible. You'd think we could ALL take pride in the achievement, instead of finding fault and then blaming someone (I would assume the President) for that fault. Come to think of it, why are our Olympians wasting their time seeing how fast they can swim or how high high into the heavens they can fly? What are they trying to prove? |

Yes. Lets politicize Mars. The B-Geeks can try to figure out whether Mars is conservative or goddam liberal, inform us their idiotic reasons behind the label, and we're off to the bano! Piso mojado! Basura time in the craters.

The Parents really appreciate it and are surprised that it can be done! Happy to put Keith on Mars but would rather put him on stage with the others "In concert Soon to be appearing at a club near you!" :smilestu I love this place! Sorry to both on such a Rookie Job! |

I don't think I was political there, sincere effort to distill and encapsulate once and for all the mind-blowing idiocy of one poster. Turned out to be an internet Kodak moment.
The Rolling Stones, they are similarly mind-blowing to me. Exile on Main Street. RO is as good as it gets on the internet. Cheers. Please dont delete, I beseech one more grace, keep this up, as my dying testification, Mars asunder. I just drank some stilch. I'm self-banning, because I know I can't abide by the new standards. I just strapped myself into a gurney, wearing a white smock, and started an IV, which I know how to do from shooting drugs in days of yore. And now I am pouring gasoline on my head at the same time I instruct an associate to shove a sword through my heart and throw a lit match on me. Its time to Moof Piss, lord! Moof Piss! |

holy jesus! i think we've seen the last of Riffy!
say hello to glennie and steelie on shidoobee my friend!! " My Riffy need not be idealized, or enlarged in death beyond Rocks Off what he was at Shidoobee; he is to be remembered simply as a good and decent man, who saw wrong and tried to right it, saw suffering and tried to heal it, saw war and tried to stop it. Those of us who loved him and who take him to his rest today, pray that what he was to us and what he wished for others will some day come to pass for all the board. As he said many times, in many posts about this nation, to those he touched and who sought to touch him: "Some men see things as they are and say why. I dream things that never were and say Obama sucks with teeth!!!." |

He only had one riff, (hint: it sucked with teeth) so his first might as well be his last.
I'm thinking that perhaps his departure was the "Big News" the Stones promised us was "Coming Soon". You didn't need a new app to see it coming, though. |
