I'm assuming this will be more or less the same official documentary that's coming out on DVD later this year?

Looking great!!!! I will never forget 12x5 when it came out, it was like finding gold, back then we didn't see so much about The Stones History on T.V. & they had all these old footage from the 60's, this one should be great if there's stuff we never saw before.

I love a lot of their series.... plus Bill Maher and ocasionally a doc or two, and of course some decent premiere movies and they make their own movies.... My DVR and HBO are gay lovers!!!

I used to watch Curb Your Enthusiasm, but people tell me that the series are over. So WTF? Am I supposed to watch "Anger Management" (the sitcom), or those awful "Big Bang" episodes (which were amusing for a second)?

Watching an Adam Sandler movie is the equivalent of sniffing one's dirty underwear, thinking that it's funny, and letting other member of one's family to smell. He could be funny, I guess; but he's like Will Ferrell. They think it's hilarious.

And Steven Spielberg sucks big time also. Have you seen the video in which he moans about not having been nominated for an Oscar, because of Fellini (the Jaws nominations -  a decent movie, but nothing to die about -- watch the video; it's amazing --  "I can't believe it, they nominated Fellini and not me" -- Talentless hack. The only movie I can stand of his is "1941", because of John Belushi. And FTR Fellini didn't get the fucking award.)? That guy (Spielberg) is a fucking arrogant tool. Fuck him and his war horses.

Boardwalk Empire is great......been downhill since Sopranos stopped and Showtime with Dexter and Shameless has taken over imho.....

Cool, looking forward to it since it is the only thing going on for the 50th Anniversary besides a book. OK I recall during the 40 Licks tour the Stones did a live show at MSG and broadcasted it on HBO. I dont think that was released on DVD, or was that the show on the 40 Licks DVD set?

It was released in slightly edited form as one of the shows on the Four Flicks box set.

Download archive releases every couple of months? Checkerboard Lounge DVD? Documentary DVD released in a couple of months (probably the same as the HBO broadcast although maybe a bit longer would be my guess)? Compilation album released by UMG probably early 2013? Some Girls Live in texas'78? Some Girls Deluxe?

Its shaping up to be the busiest year for Stones official releases EVER.

we always knew touring days were coming to a close sooner or later... and that mostlikely would be when we'd see them release archival shows and studio material.... if they only do a few shows this year, most likely, and all the  music they have made avaialable, I'd say we dod pretty good... be grateful fuckers!!! These days, it takes a miracle to get them to work during the OTHER 51 weeks of the year, let alone THAT one.

Aren't their some strong rumours of them doing a residency of 5 nights or so at the O2 in November?

I hear they are playing the closing ceremonies with Micheal Phelps joining in on guitar.

The only thing of interest for me, outside of the performance aspect,  in this doc is if they get all the band members into one room and interview them.  I don't want another 25x5 style interview.
