They have been together for just over 50 years and have released over 100 singles and over two dozen studio albums.
With such a long back catalogue it is no wonder that Keith Richards finds it hard to remember all the songs he has written.
The 68-year-old guitarist has revealed that he finds it hard to recall some of the many hits that he and Mick Jagger penned together.

Keith, who is well known for his rock star lifestyle and hard partying ways, has struggled in the past with addiction to alcohol and drugs.
Although the musical legend, who co-wrote Satisfaction, and Jumpin' Jack Flash, finds his memory is failing, his fingers are able to perform all the correct chords on their own.
Speaking to Absolute Radio, he said: 'When you kick off a song you say 'I can't remember how the middle bit goes,' but the fingers remember even if you don't.
'I don't practise as much as I should, probably. But now that we're putting the act together again I'm getting the chops back together.'

The Stones have already toured over 40 times but, are planning on hitting the road again to mark their 50 years in the business.
Their status as iconic rock stars has cemented them in history but, Keith also finds it hard to recall some memories.
He said: 'The middle's a bit blurry but the beginning's pretty clear, and so is now.
'I mean, lots of things are clear but they're not necessarily in the right order.'

No mention of his hitting his head from that fall, just like to talk about about the drugs & booze, I had brain surgery in the late 90's & I have to take Dilantin to this day, but I never had any side effects from it, my memory is very good, giving up drinking really helped too, I know Keith takes Dilantin.

I guess KEEF doesnt sit around listening to all the Stones albums as we do. Maybe he should start playing the records jog his memory! Start from the earliest to the latest and everything in between, it will take hours and hours but KEEF certainly had the time over the past 6 years. Maybe he isnt a MICK fan.

that's all he is saying, they distort it like he should wake up and be able to play Before They Make Me Run or Wild Horses.... ugh... I'm not even a musician, and I know this!!!

it's like recipes I have cooked a hundred times, years pass, and I haven't made a certain meal... I need a cookbook and i'm probably going to fuck up a bit the first few times.... It just amazes me, that people think rockstars are always on.... the worst is when you see people sing a song to a person who wrote it, it's so lame.... and people must do it to the stones so much!!! no wonder they do drugs and die... people are annoying as fuck, especially reporters!!!

Keith's not only off dope these days, but he's also off booze. Charlie even alluded to that in an interview a couple of weeks ago.

In fact, when he attended the Stones' 50th anniversary bash at Somerset House last week, Keith was drinking water the entire time.

Who'd have ever imagined there'd ever be a Rolling Stones with BOTH Keith and Woody off alcohol AND drugs!

Well when you are in your upper 60's and 70's I guess its time you start taking care of your body, it can only take so much abuse and they must have finally come to the realization that nobody lives forever. Both Ronnie & KEEF are still smoking cigarettes though, and thats the worst thing for them. Maybe thats next!
