Jealous mofo's.

No, I haven't seen it and it doesn't begin to capture my fancy.

Everything is soooo exaggerated...then turns absurd with a statement like,
"...their music was hugely influential. No other 60's performers, except POSSIBLY Dylan and The Beatles were so important"

Oops, we've all been wrong all along.  The Stones actually suck, apparently.   :nooslajaleisk

Watched part I.  Absolutely no new ideas in there for such an involved presentation.  We've heard it all before.  The bone those types of "idealists" (or maybe actual Stones haters in disguise) have to pick with "sell-outs" like the Stones is just all-around boring in this day and age.  Oh my fucking god, someone actually tried to make money off their life's work and passion?

Sad seeing Nick Kent in there.  Maybe I don't know much.

And some of that is pathetic and hypocritical whining.  The part about the Stones being a "sham" from the start because they grew up middle class?  Because Jagger's dad was a P.E. teacher?  Are you serious?  Fuck you.  Anyone growing up in the tough times of post-war Britain had the right to sing the blues.

Rolling Stones music lives forever.

Most of it is tripe. However, at about the 2 minute mark of part two William Rees Mogg confirms something which many have known all along, but were loath to admit. Jagger is much further to the "right" than he is to the "left". His LSE education should have been the dead giveaway. Hell, Rees Mogg even compares Mick to Thatcher in his views. He's a center right libertarian, and he always has been. Something that I have known for years. Bohemian lifestyle? Sure he was. He could afford to be Bohemian!. However, he has never embraced the leftist/socialist/Marxist dogma. Neither has Keith for that matter. He's smarter than that.

I dont know why you guys are getting all worked up over this. ALL politicians are liars, say anything that will get them elected and as soon as they get into office, all of the promises are forgotten, or cant be fulfilled for one reason or another. In the end, the one with the most hair wins, its a fact, thats how we pick the winners, by the hair on their head. He with the best hair wins!

Mick's politics seem to reflect his character because they have always seemed very elusive. He has expressed admiration for some of Thatcher's things but not for others. He has also show some very liberal traits while others seem to call him conservative. Very hard to pin down and I think he likes it that way.

Could it be that Mick is actually a moderate ?

Socially progressive but fiscally conservative ? Oh, the horror!  ::)

Channel 4 documentary series called 'J'Accuse' from 1990.

Sean O'Hagan was a journalist for the NME at the time.  He always WAS and remains an utter easily-offended over-sensitive, hypocritical wanker.

Bizarrely enough, the Stones get bashed a lot less now by these people than they did then. Sign of the times, I suppose.

Off topic and irrelevant political rants removed as are the replies. Dont even think about hijacking a Stones related thread with any more of this tedious crap. Its a waste of your time and literally only took two minutes of mine to remove all of it.
