They came out of nowhere, many (including me) didn't take them seriously at first, and now all of us in the know, recognize what immense talent they were/are.

Lollapalooza 1994, 2 days in a field in Carson, massive pits and partying all day. Then the Beastie Boys play Ricky's Theme about an hour into their set, the whole field is entranced and I am thinking this might be the greatest day of my life.
