Mick Taylor also has 2 gigs that night at the Iridium Jazz Club @ 8 & 10 PM, only a few blocks away. Fallon's show tapes in the late afternoon, and finishes around 6 so this will be cutting it close for Mick T to do 3 shows in 1 day. This is his first night of his NY run so I hope he doesnt burn himself out, considering his past history.

fwiw, saw a taping here in atx, and all three judges were great, good family stuff, stern is a great entertainer... even for the family, when it is suitable... he gets a horrible wrap, especially considering we are stones fans, must of us like having boundries pushe and extremes taken... i hope stern gets a hold of jagger, would be amazing... his interviews, uncensored are amazing... so little of what stern does is that goofy shit... he wouldn't be this successful unless he did it all... i'm not going to convince you to like him, i'm just saying... his interviews of billy joel, lady gaga, sacha cohen, keny west, bill murray and hundreds of others are testament to his talent... the prank calls, wild antics are just fun... and his bounce with robuin quivers may be the greatest team together, up there with carson and old ed... he holds me 90 prcent of the time... and agt is going to be our summer family show, not a lot out there nowadays, and that it is stern and someone last name osborne makes it

Mick held his own well and made Stern look a little lame with the jokes about leaving the Stones. He also sounded really good. It's amazing, I know he's been gone from the Stones forever and has done a million other things and done some very interesting stuff by himself but it's amazing how much he is missed. I really can't think of any Rolling Stone with more integrity than him.

Trust me Charlie is amazing and his integrity is pretty untouchable, I just admire Mick Taylor for having the strength to leave for his own health and because he wanted to play a different style of music. I said Mick Taylor because I don't think that even Charlie would have made that choice. He almost lost his marriage because of the lifestyle. I'm not part of the trash Ronnie being in the Stones crowd but I just miss hearing Mick Taylor playing his amazing lines. I mean he even joined the Roots in their own stuff and added a melodic level to their music that I've never heard.

first time i've seen someone take originating of a guitar lead to use in the wood vs taylor crap.... taylor is a vituoso, wood is a gritty player and song writter... two different animals... everyone has a preference... i'm more into those riffs and song that woody wrote... he was doing it well before he played with the stones... and since, without them...

On that song, in particular, it'd be great to hear him come back. Would I want to hear him on "Miss You" or "Start Me Up"? Maybe not. But next year should be all about the Big Tent. Everyone who's still alive comes back.

The thing is. He looked a bit bored until it came time to do his solo. He kept fidgeteing with the knobs on his guitar. Looking down. Constantly fidgeting. Then came time for his solo. He came alive. As much as I love Mick T. I just don't see how he fits comfortably into a Stones show. Unles it's one off,one song. No way that goes smoothly for a whole tour. Espicially with Mick still doing the same show he's done for years. A couple of songs with long solo's. Plus the complaining about sound,band mates Et All. Just seems like he's still fighting the demons all these years later. But no doubt the talent is still there. :smilemick

Indeed!

Mick sounded great. The show was quite short, a lithe over an hour and only 6-7 songs, but two of them were CYHMK and No Expectations. So we were quite happy.

They filmed the shows last night for a DVD of some sort, maybe like the Jeff Beck at the Iridium that came out fairly recently.
