Title: Bebe Buell ~ video & her comments about MICK/KEEF Post by Bitch on Mar 11th, 2012 at 4:11pm
OK I went to see Bebe Buell at a club show just to check her out. I think I read Little Queenie was supposed to be about her. Anyone know the story? She still looks good!
Heres the video I took of her in case anyone is interested. http://youtu.be/n5r0nl6szYU Quoted from her book: “I got to see the relationship between Mick and Keith in action. Mick’s so much like the long-suffering, tolerant wife who occasionally loses her cool with his sailor husband. “Oh yes, darlin’. are we going to go off and be pirates today, then?” Keith is the man, the pirate naughty boy who speaks in a language that only Mick can understand.” “I never saw Mick lose his temper with Keith. I noticed that Keith sometimes lost his patience with Mick. Mick would say something and Keith would interrupt him. “Oh gawd! Please, dear.” It was as if they were married: Mick was the woman and Keith was the man.” — “The chemistry between Mick Jagger and Keith Richards was like that between siblings, yet Mick always had a great amount of respect for Keith. He always responded to things he was saying; he would allow Keith to have more opinions than anyone else in the room; he made excuses for Keith if he ever got fucked up; and he covered for Keith. Sometimes, Keith would nod off and just fall asleep on the couch, and Mick always said, “Just leave him alone. Let him be.” Mick had accepted Keith for who he was.” Bebe Buell, on Mick and Keith’s relationship. “I was once at a table at some restaurant in New York with Mick Jagger, Jimmy Page, Rod Stewart, Ron Wood and Eric Clapton. At this point I had dated both Jimmy and Mick, and Rod fancied me big-time, but I hadn’t snogged him, so there was a flirtation going on. Woody had a little crush on me from when I had stayed at the Wick. So there was a lot of tension: Everybody just wanted me dead. I swear to God. I felt like Lillie Langtry, because I was the only woman sitting at this table. Woody felt very territorial, because he thought of me as his little girl, and he was keeping an eye on me. He pulled me aside and whispered, “You know, you can’t date all of us.” “Why?” I said. “You guys date all of us. What’s the difference?” |

The Chuck Berry song? Unlikely I'd have thought considering she would have been about 5 when it came out. |

That would make more sense, yeah. Its probably another of their 'composite' songs, though.
Reading that lost quote in your first post, she probably WISHES it was about her. |

No, not Little Queenie, not as far as The Chuck Berry song was concerned IMO.........
I got the lumps in my throat When I saw her coming down the aisle I got the wiggles in my knees When she looked at me and sweetly smiled There she is again Standing over by the record machine Oooh, she's looking like a model On the cover of a magazine Why she's too cute to be a minute over seventeen Meanwhile I was thinking She's in the mood No need to break it I got the chance I'm gonna take it She can dance We can make it Come on queenie Let's shake it! Go go go Little Queenie Go go go Little Queenie Go go go Little Queenie Won't ya tell me who the queen is Standing over by the record machine Why she's looking like a model On the cover of a magazine Yeah she's too cute to be a minute over seventeen Take off your shoes Meanwhile, I was still thinkin' If it's a slow song we'll omit it If it's a rocker, that'll get it If it's good, she'll admit it Come on queenie, lets get with it Go go go Little Queenie Go go go Little Queenie Go go go Little Queenie odd thing about the Name Little Queenie, it was a favorite name for Bird Dogs here the country, in the late 50"s...dont know if there was a connection between the "bitches" and the song's main character tittle star? :blankfriggingstare1 |
