Bandmates of Rolling Stone gather for loss

WHAT better way for Brian Jones fans to commemorate his 70th birthday than a night celebrating his music?

Cheltenham's Frog and Fiddle pub, in lower High Street, hosts a tribute gig at 7.30pm on Friday.

The Ramrods, the band that Cheltenham-born Brian played with before forming the Rolling Stones, will be headlining with '60s rock and roll.

Support comes from The Lost Gonzo's, Courson and the Fair Weather Friends, all playing Stones tracks from 1964-69, in homage to Brian's time in the band.

Tickets are £5 on the door.

Its sweet that Brian's memory lives on. Most people forgot about him by now. They say 200 years after someone dies there is no one living to remember the dead. That's a fact.

It is sweet. Brian was/is loved by many still.

I read a book called 'Oblivion' thats' premise was we die twice. The first time when we leave our bodies. The second time, when the last person alive who remembers us passes. Then we're in oblivion.
