Title: Is there ANY hope of a tour next year =( Post by StonesFan1990 on Dec 28th, 2011 at 4:42pm
I wasn't paying much attention with the last tour so I don't know how long in advance a tour is announced or talked about...But the silence from the Stones camp with regard to a 50th anniversary tour is disheartening. If Keith's book is what's keeping them from touring then I wish it were never released =(

I don't know about the ball actually set into motion...but the 2005 press conference was at the start of MAY 2005 and the tour commenced late summer ( mid Septemberish)...See SETLIST above for actual dates...but that is close enough... |

I think a tour is out of the question but some stands in London or NYC may happen. IF keith can still play some guitar (even Charlie nearly questioned that on the radio the other day)

There will be a tour in 2012. 'The book' is no longer a major issue.
Cant understand why anyone gets frantic about this so far in advance. 1981 tour announced late July. Opened late September 1989 tour announced mid July. Opened end of August 1994. tour announced early May. Opened start of August 1997 tour announced mid August. Opened 23rd September 2002 tour announced 7 May. Opened 3rd September 2005 tour announced 10 May. Opened 20th August. And there's no 'silence from the Stones camp' at all. Every single band member has indicated that they'll probably do something in 2012. They never release a statement in advance of an official tour announcement indicating that they 'intend' to tour anyway. The internet has spoiled people's perspective of expectancy and patience. It used to be you thought nothing of hearing no news for months on end. Now fans seem to expect daily updates. |

If the Beach Boys got back together and are working on a new album for their "50th" tour, there's no reason the Stones shouldn't do the same. Hell, Van Halen has a new record with Roth and a tour planned for next year.

Bon Jovi Death Prankster Getting 'A S--tload of Backlash'Bon Jovi Death Prankster Getting 'A S--tload of Backlash'
news-1005761152 by Michele Amabile Angermiller, THR | diciembre 29, 2011 10:30 EST The identity of the Grinch who tried to ruin Christmas for Bon Jovi fans by spreading the hoax of rocker Jon Bon Jovi's demise has been revealed to be Jeffrey Goho, a musician from Pennsylvania. Goho, a vocalist for the band Minutia, told The Asbury Park Press that he started the rumor because he was upset that all news about Bon Jovi -- including opening his new restaurant and appearing in Advil commercials -- had nothing to do with the singer's music career. "All I heard was 'Bon Jovi this,' 'Bon Jovi's starting a restaurant,' " Goho told the paper. "What was the latest one? The Advil commercial? It was like, 'Jeez, [Bon Jovi] was a household name due to music, not business.' " The hoax reported that the singer was found in a coma at the Empress Hotel in Asbury Park. It then said hundreds of reporters were camped outside Jersey Shore Medical Center in Neptune awaiting news of his condition. The report referred to a bogus press release as a source. Bon Jovi blasted back that evening with a photo of himself under a tree holding a sign that said, "Heaven Looks a Lot Like New Jersey," and appeared with Bobby Bandiera at the Hope Show in Red Bank that night, where he cracked several jokes about his untimely demise. Since then, Goho has been on his own PR campaign to make sure Bon Jovi fans don't give his band a bad name on his Facebook page. "Please stop sending attached hate mail to my fellow band members," Goho wrote on his status update. "They are in no way involved." He referred that he was getting a "s#$tload of backlash from my most recent stunt," on his page, as well. Goho told the Asbury Park Press that he realizes now that Bon Jovi's "household name" status has "made the tri-state area prosper, hence more musicians having more available places to go, more people to play to, and I was quite wrong." He did acknowledge that he has gained some new fans from the incident, "but it wasn't my initial intention. I never really thought it would get out of the state of Pennsylvania." http://www.billboard.com/news/bon-jovi-death-prankster-getting-a-s-tload-1005761152.story#/news/bon-jovi-death-prankster-getting-a-s-tload-1005761152.story |

I'm a believer! The Stones will do some shows for the 50 Year Anniversary for sure! It's got to be done, they will not skip this momentous occasion without acknowledgement of the bands incredible longevity. Its more than any of us could have hoped for way back in the early days of ROCK! I doubt any of us expected the Stones to last this long! So let the celebration begin! I've heard rumors of Yankee Stadium, Paris, a London performance to be broadcasted in different Imax theatres across the world, the ideas are out there floating around so its just a matter of time before we get some real facts!

With a kick-off at or for ( as in a full show away from the games) the London Games???
I don't see them doing a Freddie Mercury "London Gold" thing ...leave that to the international Superheavies...they need some more cred IMO and that could do it for them EDIT: July 12...the Stones' anniversary is about 2 weeks before the games begin... It can (and should!!) be done...with a satellite feed and fireworks show!! |
