Title: Concert films debate Post by Some Guy on Oct 19th, 2011 at 7:30am
I took my wife last night and she isn't a huge Stones fan and she was absolutely floored! I fucking loved it!! I had a smile on my face the entire time! That shit was too good! That was the best ever!! My wife woke up talking about how great the lyrics were and could not believe the heart break songs and how powerful the words were. The entire band were on fire. Mick was the best!! That's what you call doing your best Jagger! Damn!
I have never, ever seen The Stones like that, they were beyond hot! Live in Texas was much, much better IMHO- just simply a better band with better material. Some Girls is the greatest! I'm on cloud mother fucking nine this morning! I cannot fucking wait to get the dvd and new cd! Thanks Mick! guest voting enabled |

Corgi, it's a smack down of epic proportions The power & energy are stunning. In your face pure rock & roll. I am lucky to have caught this tour 14 days earlier than 7/18/78 in Buffalo.... |

Tough call. I know everybody is still hyped up from watching the Some Girls movie last night and it was very good. But still,Ronnie is no match for Mick Taylor. L&G for me. :smilemick

NOT! The quality & quantity of the You Tube clips is like Romper Room compared to what was played last night. |

Taylor played the same loud notes every night.
Ronnie brings it fresh every night. |

Not for me. I was all for L & G before I saw this. Woody in a bloody coke fired knock down. Charisma & versatility, baby. Some Girls is a cohesive lp & this live concert is it's superb companion. |

I saw L & G in '74 in the theatre I saw the Stones 7/19/72 with Taylor. Once again, this concert movie is THE best Stones movie released. |

Note to Someguy;
Now, wasn't last night simply much better than Han Valen? |

I didn't realize it until the ride home form the film...The conspicuous absence of Mick with his Harmonica!!!
Shows this period really was a HUGE transitional time for the band...personal, musical performance, recording styles, as well as stage attitude. |

Miss You still works for that problem. :Youmakeagrownmancrylikejoey .......And Nellie. Let's just say L&G and SG are apples and oranges. Nothing wrong either way. :wow |
