A MURAL is to be erected at the railway station where Rolling Stones Mick Jagger and Keith Richards first became friends.

:tongui

The pair chatted at Dartford in Kent in 1961 and Richards agreed to join Jagger’s band Little Boy Blue and the Blue Boys. The glass mural is part of a £9million makeover.

Dartford council’s Jeremy Kite said: “I’m delighted.”

Ok, don't shoot me but.....I think the rail station deserves a mural. The Jagger/Richards connection should be celebrated. But.......they didn't actually form the Rollin' {Rolling} Stones.  ;) Brian Jones is the one who put the ad in the Jazz News....and Ian Stewart was the first to respond. Keith, along with Mick, came along after that. Since Brian has been gone for so long, I can understand the casual fan/person/etc. thinking that the band was started by Mick & Keith.....I'm sure Mick & Keith would have stayed together, one way or another, and had a band in which they wrote the music and became famous. It just would have been a different band...

But......the mural sounds cool, and I think it's a great idea.  :) 8-)

A mural without CHARLIE is just plain WRONG!!! Are those his hands on MICK & KEEF? We need to see Charlie's young face in the mural too!!!

It should be a pic of Mick and Keith in those days...with a back drop of all the album covers , ticket stubs, flyers, and milestone moments

I think a hoodlum kid will ruin this.  I hope Theo keeps her markers off of this one!

Don't they now have some kind of paint they can use that would let any graffiti just wash off easily?

What a load of poop, it's not the birthplace of the stones and it's not where Mick and Keith first met either.  Might have to super glue a picture of Brian pulling a nanker on to it.
