Mick Jagger
Sir Mick Jagger wants to celebrate The Rolling Stones' 50th anniversary next year without Keith Richards.

The frontman fell out with the band's guitarist when Keith ridiculed him in his autobiography 'Life' ruining plans for an anniversary tour and while Mick would love to celebrate the special occasion by returning to the Marquee Club in London where they played their first gig, he won't be inviting Keith.

He told Live magazine: "Maybe we could go back to the Marquee to accept a plaque for 50 years of service instead of a tour. That could work - except Keith obviously can't come. Charlie Watts [who wasn't at the first performance] can come but he wouldn't get the plaque obviously."

Mick has teamed up with Joss Stone, Dave Stewart, Damian Marley and AR Rahman to create a new album under the group name SuperHeavy and although his Rolling Stones bandmates Ronnie Wood and Charlie have both heard the record, Keith hasn't.

Mick explained: "Ronnie's listened to it. He's sweet, he's very supportive. He liked it very much, he liked it all, particularly some of the first tracks we started with.

"And Charlie liked it. He's all about the grooves, he's got a great ear.

"I don't know if Keith really listens to that much. I don't know what Keith listens to. He says he listens to Chuck Berry, I wonder if it is actually true."

A cherry-picked bit of faux gossip twice removed from the original Daily Mail piece.

Doubtless a joking reference to Keith's dustup with the Marquee's owner during the 1971 TV filming, not some bitchy 'Life' snark.

Are some of you THAT gullible????  :forfucksake
Bernie Madoff would have had a field day with this group.
Mick Jagger would NEVER talk like that in public. Pure garbage.

If Mick really said that this is GOOD news!! This will be or already is on the news all over, internet news, newspapers, tabloids, social networks, radio and TV so this means A TOUR SOON!!!

Of course with Keith, if Mick said that is not real, it's just to start a war of gossip news about another cat fight between the glimmer twins

And off we go...as predicted yesterday, more mountains out of molehills which were cherrypicked from an interview done several weeks ago but which was only published at the weekend to tie in with the Super Heavy release. Same old story. The press take an off the cuff remark at face value, print it and add a bit of a sting in the tail - and people fall for it.

SuperHeavy won't be touring. There's no market for it.

The Stones, on the other hand...... :booze

Sir Mick Jagger Supports Gay Marriage

                        :perverted
SuperHeavy sideman has signed Freedom to Marry's I Do letter to President Barack Obama, urging him to consider the marriage rights of gay couples.

Sir Mick Jagger has signed Freedom to Marry's Say, "I Do" letter to President Barack Obama asking for marriage equality for gay couples.

The musician, famous during the sixties, believes all loving couples should have the right to wed.

Evan Wolfson, president of campaign group Freedom to Marry, said: "Mick Jagger believes all loving couples should have the right to wed".

A large number of celebrities have previously signed the letter - which asks President Obama to "clarify" the situation about gay marriage in the US - including openly lesbian 'Glee' star Jane Lynch, actress Anne Hathaway and Martin Sheen.

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie have previously indicated they would not get married until gay couples have the right to do so in America.

Speaking with an accent, Mick Jagger said: "Most gay people are very tasty people. They like beautiful stuff in their lives. If they like me, it means they have taste. They don't follow me for my butt shots. They like me for me".

mick and keith don't give a fuck if they get along or not... Joey and Johnny Ramone hated each other for years... and they toured in a fucking van... This ends is death, nothing else... don't forget it...

Lol. If Jagger was ever truly finished with Keith he'd never say so publicly. He has more class, couth, and professionalism than that. As well, he would know openly admitting this would hurt his image at bit because most would blame the end of The Stones on him, rather than what prompted him to act as such.

If he did say this (*which I'm highly skeptical of) he was just joshing. Quite possibly being a bit sarcastic since many feel there is still a major rift going on.

Nine out of ten media outlets can write anything (and many times they do). Who is going to check into this to see if Mick said this? Who is going to check to see if he even spoke to this outlet at all?

As well, if for some reason he DID say this it was most likely several days or some weeks before their most recent and telling band meeting.

It all boils down to: Don't believe everything you read.

Ian

Harold Pendleton owned the Marquee. Surely the old goat is dead? Wasnt there some hassle with a banner he wanted to have in the background of the Stones "farewell" gig?

And wasnt Harold the same dude in the early days (along with the trad jazz fella's) who openly loathed the Stones and didnt want them playing in their venues?

Now, lets have fun and take Jagger's remarks for real. Charlie cant get a plaque. Mick doesnt want Keith there. Ronnie wasnt in the band. Bill has left. Taylor has left. Does that mean only Jagger gets a plaque?

The "banner" was the Marquee logo on the rear stage wall.

Keith wanted it removed for the 1971 TV taping, and Pendleton was having none of it...Keith reportedly swung his guitar at him.

Pendleton is still alive, but ceased being involved with the Marquee back in 1988.

http://www.themarqueeclub.net/harold-pendleton

The last Marquee closed in 2008, but a new club 'Marquee Live', with Pendleton's blessing, opened in January 2011 at the Monarch in Camden's Chalk Farm Road.

http://www.themarqueeclub.co.uk/

Coincidentally, it's just a short distance from the London Roundhouse, which re-opened about 5 years ago and which was where the Stones played the final dates of their 'Farewell Britain' 1971 tour just 12 days before they taped their TV special at the Marquee (they havent performed at either venue since then). The Roundhouse has more recently been known for hosting the 'Electric Proms' series of concerts and it's where Amy Winehouse made her last public appearance in July just two days before she died.

Pendleton always hated the Stones and thought they were crap. He fired them from the Marquee and whilst the 'banner' incident at their 1971 return appearance at the venue caused a lot of dispute, the incident which reportedly 'triggered' Keith's violent reaction was him overhearing Pendleton at the rehearsal dismissing them as being 'the same old rubbish'.
