Title: Need some Stones fans encouragement Post by Gimme Shelter on Sep 10th, 2011 at 8:22pm
Hey everybody, I've been on here since '02. I'm not the type who usually goes online for encouragement but without going into all of the details of how this came about my wife just filed for divorce. I'm just really going through an emotional rollercoaster right now and need some words of encouragement. Thanks everyone, take care.

Sorry to hear this GS! I know words might seem pointless right now, but I do believe everything happens for a very specific reason, which may not seem that obvious or worthwile at first, but will show itself sooner or later. Try to take it one day at a time, fill your time with whatever makes you feel better and focus on the future. I believe that the love we share with people is never lost, even if the people themselves may change or go. It's always there inside both.
I'm wishing you the very best! It will get better! |

Life's roadblocks always get in the way. Find your inner strength and take each day as it comes. Thinking of you.

" ... my wife just filed for divorce. "
No reason to worry --- it happens all the time at the office ( .. or ANY office for THAT matter ) and everyone comes through it alright ..... and for the better . J. Fly ! |

Be strong my friend, if it's not possible to go back to the good times some times it's better a divorce rather than fight day to day in front of the kids, always it's hard for all, you, your wife and your kids (don't know how old they are) but reconciliation always improve the relations
If reconciliation it's not an option just watch your avatar my friend! Print it and use it as a poster :forfucksake :aimama |

The best advice I can give you is make the most of it!
1. Do all the things your wife hated you to do. Look at this as an opportunity to do the things you werent allowed to do when you were married. 2. Go out and meet somebody cute, and fvck her brains out. Dont mention your wife. 3. Leave the past where it belongs, in the past. There aint no going back now so enjoy the single life. It beats the hell out of married life anyway! the persuit of happiness just seems a bore. 4. Dont worry, you'll get thru this just fine, divorce isnt a death sentence and it never killed anyone. You'll survive and come out a stronger person. 5. Do not give to your wife's every demand or become a wimp. Stand up for your rights financially and maintain your dignity ~ never break down and always stay tough. 6. Dont take her back, even if she cries and changes her mind. She doesnt deserve you anymore if she tossed you out like a burnt out cigarette. She threw away your love so she does not get another chance. 7. Play TIE YOU UP/THE PAIN OF LOVE as loud as possible about 10 times in a row. You'll feel better afterwards. |

Don't worry too much; bad things happen to good people, but good stuff happens too. Do what you have to do (as long as it doesn't harm anybody, of course); see a friend; take some time off (if possible).
It's natural to get angry, or to think that one will never find peace after the storm, but life is filled with surprises. Good things happen. It only takes time. Good luck. |

Great advice from Bitch, post this all over your living quarters. Secondly, don't ask why this happened, accept it and move on. For the most part a divorce is a blessing....

Well I chose to never have just 1 woman for the rest of my life.
Meaning, never marry. Still haven't met a girl who likes the Stones as much as me but thats surley ok. Stones are a GREAT companion. GS, you know you can always come here for support and a few laughs. But never forget your passion, - Stones. Keith said Music always comes before family, but then again, Keith has said a lot of stuff. |

You sound rational enough that you realize you need "something"...even if it comes from the psycho ward we call ROCKS OFF!! ;)
Just picture yourself one year from now...after the storm has mostly cleared...you know you will survive it...that is your current destination...and a a year after that...when it is all BRAND NEW again. That is the start of the journey!! Been there Brother! You are in control. You need to make yourself the number one priority for the time being. Shortly after my first marraige ended ( divorce finalized) ...I took up SCUBA diving...something I could never do before...that became my re-birth...I am now a Certified Dive Master. I don't dive for a living, but continue to enjoy it so much... |

Gorda. You took the words right out of my mouth. Literally. Now I'm mute; and I was blind and deaf for a start, a while ago. Like the title character from the rock opera "Tommy", that hunk of a human being - the singer from "Tommy", the band: a group of people that released that very good album called "The Who").
Sometimes I feel like Helen Keller every time I go to the kitchen, only to be surrounded by a bunch of fucking idiot assholes who don't have the decency to be aware of my presence and refill my cereal bowl. If I ever find a mute person, at least I'm going to make an effort to try to understand what the little bitch is trying to say to me. Or push her down the stairs; I don't care. Fucking stupid assholish people. They all deserve to die. I think I said too much. |

Yeah it is tough in the beginning, the first year is the hardest. Some more advice since the holidays are the WORST time of year for divorcees and coming up soon. Make some plans and make them early. The last thing you want to be is alone on Thanksgiving or Christmas or New Years. Don't laugh, I spent Thanksgiving at McDonalds alone one year at a rest stop when I was first divorced, and that is as fvckingdepressing as it gets, and I could of avoided that if I made some calls ahead of time but I just didnt feel like celebrating. DO yourself a big favor ~ reach out to your friends, cousins, whoever and get an invitation early on, even if you have to hint around or just plain ask for it. It's much better being in a group of people than being alone on a holiday. Trust me on this one dude.

McDonald's was open on Thanksgiving? Not where I live! Everything is closed during the holidays! One time, my mom's friend's husband was in the hospital. We felt sad, because she was all alone with her husband in a coma. So, we decided to take her some Christmas food. Well, when we left the house, we were stuffed, so we didn't think to pack some food for ourselves, too. On the way back, we were starving! And, everything was closed! Fortunately, we still had a lot of food at the house! (And, in case, anyone is wondering, her husband did survive. The power of prayer! His wife believed that he would survive! And, he did!) |
