But he can't be a man 'cause he doesn't smoke
The same cigarrettes as me

OK MICK/KEEF were being sarcastic. They were making fun of TV and Radio commercials. Yeah, way back in the early days they used to advertise cigarettes on TV and radio. I believe this verse was referring to "The Marlboro Man" who was a rugged macho type of guy in the commercials, so what MICK/KEEF meant was according to TV advertising bullshit, you werent a man unless you smoked Marlboros, the manly choice. Otherwise, your a pussy.

The next verse says
When I'm watchin' my TV
And a man comes on to tell me
How white my shirts can be

This is referring to laundry detergent TV ads, that showed ring around the colar, and if you bought Tide or All or whatever the detergent brand name was, your shirts would be bright white, the brighter the better was the ad message.

It's about TV and radio advertising telling us that the products we buy determine the people we are, which is pure bullshit, and thats why MICK/KEEF were making a social commentary about it in Satisfaction.

this sounds right to me, in the 60's, T.V. was bombarded with those commercials.

It means he's a bit of a woman; not very manly, perhaps. It's a joke.

The songs is about not been able to get any satisfaction and 'loosing streak' means you're on a run of bad luck - where are you getting 'menstruation' from? It hardly fits with the songs other references.

The menstruation reference is inferred from the "come back maybe next week" since the period lasts about a week.  Don't forget that in 1965, correct me if I'm wrong ladies, many more women still used pads back then than tampons, hence the "streak."  More important, what greater denial of satisfaction is having a chick but being unable to "have" her because of this monthly circumstance.  (For what it's worth, that's never stopped me!)  :charlieperv

OK here's my in depth A to this Q! When MICK/KEEF says And I'm tryin' to make some girl
Who tells me baby better come back later next week
" and next 'Cause you see I'm on losing streak
because of it, yeah, it means she has her period. If she cant fvck him this week but she's willing to do it next week, thats the only explanation really. Most guys wont go near a women when shes got her period. Very, very few will still be interested, and obviously MICK/KEEF feel that way or they would of said it's no big deal.  Satisfaction has its limitations!

Zack I wont correct you because you got it mostly right except one thing ~ I never heard of a 'pad' being called a 'streak'. I thought when MICK/KEEF used the word 'streak' it meant a run of bad luck. And Zack, if you 'go with the flow' and dont care, that makes you a footloose man LOL
