I liked Supertramp in the 70's, first time I ever heard them I was at a house warming party, I was stoned out of my head on this killer Hash from Morocco, & this guy plays the opening to "School" I thought it sounded like a Clint Eastwood movie (Western) the harmonica, it was "Crime Of The century" album, I liked "Breakfast In America" & a few of the other ones before it, they were great, but only lasted until the late 70's I believe, I remember being in a stereo store & they tested the speakers by playing "Logical Song"

I still like  how Supertramp  "sounds" like .
OK,the singer might sounds kind of  sloppy but I am not ashamed to say I have a great time with "Breakfast in America"   [smiley=cool.gif]

Big fan here, have all their stuff and then some. Most of Roger Hodgson's solo stuff is good too, unfortunately he no longer plays with a band on stage now, just him on keys or guitar and a sax player. Shows his talent I guess but he's just rehashing the old stuff. He lives in one of the coolest's places on earth too, Nevada City in the Northern Sierras!

Not a big fan here but I liked them, it was typical for parties (very danceable, the girls used to dance their music very provocative and sexy) and for make love (same as above).

My first album was "Indelibly stamped" and I like it, specially "Potter" (A crude piece of British rock) and the opening track "Your poppa don't mind". I only have three albums on vinyl (the above, Even  in the quiets moments and Breakfast) and tapes of Paris and Famopus last words

Good band but not my glass of beer :booze :booze

I just mentioned them as I just saw them live. They are ok in my books not great though as I like other bands better such as Stones, Heart, Aerosmith to name just a few.  I decided to see them before they retire as I've never seen them. I was surprised they got 9 or 8,000 in the arena. Does anyone know if they have toured the US this year? I'm in Canada by the way.

Sure that music is a matter of personal taste but as Voodoo wrote ,Supertramp was seen as playing "easy music" .I never saw them playing live, though .

They Played a great show here in the 80's at one of the top ten acoustical horrors of all time, The Richmond Coliseum. Instead of selling the seats behind the stage they or the management put up a huge Sound curtain behind the band, Best sound out of that place ever. It was the Hey day of the band, Breakfast in America just out. They sounded great. I think I got 2 albums of theirs........I did not buy a tshirt but saved the tickets :areyoufuckingserious
